Sorry, I will finish commenting back eventually, but here is an update on Tiger's progress.
After he spent three days at the vet for a blocked urinary tract, I brought him home, and within 3 days he was blocked again. The vet found all these little blood balls in his bladder. She did some blood work, which did not show any crystals or infection, just a lot of blood. She ordered a prescription that relaxes the bladder and urethra and makes it easier to pee. Unfortunately it was going to take 3 days to get it.
So two days later, on Sunday, Tiger started frantically peeing bloody pee everywhere, and I took him to the emergency clinic. They gave him pain meds, steroids, fluids and anti-biotics and sent him home.
I confined him to the bathroom for 2 days. He was eating small portions and using the litter box. Then on Tuesday morning he was active, he was hungry, he was himself again. So I fed him and he ate. He wanted more, so I gave him more. He seemed pretty fine. That night he was hyper and kept me up (that was also the first night on the new meds).
Yesterday his appetite tapered off, and I thought I was going to have to take him in again. This morning he's eating, and he's peed some. Not sure if he's OK or not honestly. I guess I'm going to have to just watch him and play it by ear.
Not sure how this is going to end up yet...

I have never heard of a cta peeing blood before. It sounds dreadful. I do hope that he will get better soon. You must all be so worried. I am so sorry that this happened to Tiger

I know how that goes. I hope that it eventually settles down and he feels better. Maybe they can find out what is causing him to have the blood in his bladder.

The vet at the emergency clinic seemed to think it was stress on the bladder from him not being able to pee for a while.

Fortunately he is eating, if a cat stops eating they are in real trouble. Obviously the vet gave Tiger a lot of fluid to clean out not only his kidneys but also his bladder. This will help get whatever is blocking his tract out. Also, whatever blocked the urinary tract may have been the final batch of whatever that was causing the blockage.
Both of the cat books I just checked stated the same thing, that it was more than likely blocked by crystals which made it hurt to pee.If you think of the crystals as broken glass scraping the inner walls of his urinary tract, you can understand the blood in the pee, and the pain he was going through. When the cat comes into the vet with a bladder problem of any sort they will administer fluids to flush the system so that if there is an infection it also will be cleared out of the system. It is great that there is no crystals in the blood, it will help keep the blockage from building up again. The most important thing that is stated in both books is that you complete the full course of antibiotics. Even if he seems so much better, keep giving him the antibiotics!!!
It will be a few days before Tiger is back to normal. He's been through a LOT of stress and pain. Keep a close eye on him and make sure he has plenty of clean cool water. If he isn't drinking, then the books suggest a really tiny pinch of salt on his food to encourage him to drink more. One thing they suggested was tomato juice...that blew me away! The vitamin C in the juice will help combat the infection. I haven't ever had a cat want tomato juice! But the really big thing is to make sure he gets plenty of fluid in his system, that will keep his urinary tract clear. Also keep an eye on what he's eating. To allow his urinary tract to heal he may end up on some prescription food for awhile. His poor system has to be very very painful! It would be like having a cut on your hand and then having something salty rub on it. OW!!!
If you stop and think about it, Tiger pulled an all nighter on Tuesday, so on Wednesday he just wanted to rest, and he wouldn't be really interested in a bunch of food.
I am praying for Tiger to get better quickly. I also am praying that the antibiotics help and that you are able to give him his doses without much trouble from him. Cats can be fiendish to medicate. I know that from Murphy when she had a UTI. I would get the antibiotic in her mouth, certain that it had gone down her throat and I would let go of her head and she would go put toot and the pill would sail out of her mouth and on the floor! Murphy had the UTI when she was 10, and she is now 18 years old...so the worry on my part worked; as well as the antibiotics.
Sorry about the medical lesson...I know what you're going through. I love my furry babies so much that I would be frantic if something like that happened again. That is why I keep both cat and dog medical books on my shelf so that I can read up on the problem and get the proper help for the critter. I was beside myself and in tears with both Murphy with her UTI and Dinglebeary with his FIS. Fortunately I was able to rush the two to the vet and everything came out okay. It just took time.

It could be that he picked up a bacterial infection somewhere along the way. There is nothing like having a sick cat and trying to figure out what is causing the illness.
I'm sitting here with Willy up against me, snuggled as close as he can get without crawling in my shirt. He is so thrilled to hear that Tiger is a lot better now. Come to think of it, it could have been an infection that was finally clearing up. Right now it is just so great that he is soooo much better!!! Hug and kiss Tiger for us and let him know that his cousins here in California are rooting for him and sending their best "purred" wishes for his recovery.

The urine test didn't show an infection either.
keep in mind that the tests were run after he'd been treated though.

He does seem to be getting better. I don't dare let him out of the bathroom until he's off these meds though.

Pets are part of the family and when they get ill we will worry constantly for them, they are companions and we love them just like children. I know I was besotted with my Zeus, he spent most times outdoors, and I would worry about him, and fuss over him like he was my child, and when he got ill, I was on edge all the time. I hope Tiger pulls through but with your love he's going to pull through, they are pretty resilient, put us through the mill through worrying but he will be right as rain!

Awwww, I do hope all goes well with you and your Tiger. Give him lots of love and attention. I'm so sure that you are already doing that.
It's just so hard when our babies get sick like that. I know that when any of my kitties doesn't feel good, I don't feel good either. They can sense that.
So try hard to take good care of yourself too so that you can be strong for Tiger.
One of my cat's name is Tiger so I think I'll go and give her a big hug and smooch right now.

Poor Tiger. I am glad he is doing better and hope this continued. There was another discussion about somewhat the same thing and I wonder if this problem has something to do with what he is eating. The type of cat food he gets.

This doesn't sound good! I hope the vet finds out what is wrong with Tiger and it is not anything serious. I don't remember how long you've had Tiger. I would not like to hear you have to put him down! I honestly I have never heard these problems in a cat before.

So far, so good. He seems to be getting better.
Actually, urinary tract problems are fairly common in male cats, especially if you feed them dry food.

Awww, poor baby. I hope he continues to get better. It's awful expensive to see about animal healthcare when there is a persistent problem. I'm happy to know you can take care of his needs.

It's not fun when a child or a pet is hurting.
