It's November 22, 2012 when I received an offer to convert $230 dollar in to Philippine Peso. We agreed the conversion rate and he send to me the amount in my Paypal account the I send him the cash credits through G-cash. Our transaction was very successful and we are both satisfied but on the same day,as I checked my Paypal account, it was deducted by $230 dollars and was placed held. I don't know why. We have a smooth transaction. The fund is now under review by Paypal for the reason of Unauthorized Claim. Why is this happening? Anyone who have experienced this problem?

The person who sent you the money has filed a PayPal claim saying that someone else did the transaction without their permission. I think you've been scammed, and I'm not sure that there is anything that you can do against that claim. PayPal has ways for you to withdraw your money to your bank account. As far as I know, they don't support exchanging currency like you did with that other person. Was it someone you knew, or a complete stranger?

Does G-cash allow you to dispute transactions? You need to file a dispute for the credits you sent as soon as you can if they do.

I'm sorry, but you'll probably lose the dispute. PayPal has an Acceptable Use Policy that says you can't use their services for transactions that involve currency exchanges. I don't think they will side with you because the transaction violated their policies.

I don't know him personally but we talked through phone. Until yesterday we have communication. He said that he will cooperate with the problem. He also said that he tried to call Paypal and the no one answered and he will try to call later. What will I do with this? I provided Paypal with the transaction details. It is still being reviewed by Paypal. Will I win with this?

Ouch! That is a bad thing for you, my friend. You might be sending that amount in different address. Check it carefully and write an appeal to paypal so that the transaction resolve without any problem...

What do you mean different address? I have also noticed that I have sent the amount in different Paypal email address and now the Paypal email that he used to file a dispute is also different. Is that possible?

Did you make sure he has Verified User status on PayPal? I did an exchange from dollar to peso once with an online local exchanger and they made sure my account was Verified and that I had a valid ID to show them.

Yeah he has a verified Paypal account. I don't know why he initiated the dispute. We talked clearly and our transaction ran smooth. Maybe he is a hacker and a scammer. He don't owned that Paypal account. He really screwed me. I can still contact his mobile number. I don't know if Paypal will favor on me.

I think you've been tricked by your transaction partner. He submit a dispute to paypal that he/she didn't make any transaction to you. Were you able to withdraw the amount 230$ already out from your paypal? Next time you make transaction to strangers. Be sure to make the best out of that transaction. If you will notice paypal has a message board or something a box which you can provide details or a personal message. Use that, Tell to your transaction partner to indicate your name, your email address and things may indicate that the transaction is legal and permitted by the transaction partner.

What's the latest status of your paypal account? Since you mentioned you send the money thru G-Cash you still know the person right? You can file a case in our country. And also you can do that in paypal as well. Just provide all the details and documents.

Yes I am really tricked. I don't know if the person who sent the amount to my PayPal fund is the also the real owner of the account and just tricked me by filing that dispute. Or the PayPal account that sent me the amount was hacked by different person and send the amount to me. I was not able to withdraw the amount from my PayPal because I am planning to sell it too...

If the person is really the owner of the PayPal account and just tricked me, Is there another way that I can do so that I can get my money back? Can I file an appeal for this to PayPal?

Have you called paypal? I think calling them is better than emailing you back and forth. it also might be a faster way to resolve your problem there. Good luck.

Is it free of charge to call Paypal? May somebody post here the Paypal's hotline number? I should have call them. I have seen that Paypal called the buyer in the log. I don't know what's the result of their conversation. Can that person (the buyer) can file a case against me even if his account was hacked by another person who sent the funds to my account?
