Overwork because of my skills but underpaid

Hi! I'm currently working in a private company as an architect. After 6 mos I already solved their long time problems about building permits because, I have experience on it before. So here's the issue, our General manager just promoted me as the technical head but, they did not raised my salary. I felt so bad here because, it just gave me a lot of work and headaches. I'm thinking of sending a letter of appraisal for my salary but, I'm working here for just 1 year..i need advise. thanks!

I think you have every right to be able to consult your head and talk to them about your issues. I believe you do deserve to be promoted, but then your promotion must come with a raise with your salary as well. You may first consult with your direct head and talk to him first and there is probably no need for you to escalate it immediately demanding for a raise.

Why not send them a letter about this? There is nothing wrong with asking especially if it would help you perform better. Since you are performing well in your job, isn't it but right that you should also be given a little consideration? Don't be afraid to ask because it is your right. Have a nice day!

Well, I think that there is no wrong in asking them about it. Besides, if you feel that they have given you more responsibilities, then maybe you really need a much higher salary for it. Maybe you could politely ask if there should be any increase in salary as soon as someone has been promoted or should you wait for a certain time before the increase in salary takes effect.

Oh, that's awful to be promoted by rank but not on pay. I think there is a provision on labor law for that. You should take that up with your Human Resources Department. There's something wrong wiht that setup, friend.
