Surprisingly Indian team is playing with one specialist fast bowler in the 2nd Test cricket at Mumbai. Fast bowlers have some good performance records at Wankhade Stadium in past. So I think England team has a good chance to win this match as they are more balanced team now. Share your views and opinions.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i suppose it is such a shocking news looking at the way India captured the first test match. I think they needed to understand the requirement of the bowlers and batsmen required for such a pitch and then should have opted for the selection. I do not know if the England team can capitalize this opportunity but i think they have to increase their level to match up to the standards required to play at the sub continent. What say?

Suitable bowling combination is needed to get result oriented team selection. I recollect a past time combination of Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar. Since batsmen were so cautious to the balls of Kapil Dev they took some freedom to the balls of Manoj Prabhakar. Since Prabhakar too had good bowling he too got wickets. In the case Mumbai test England is showing of having a good spin combination too.

India is in an uncomfortable situation against England. They have lost five wickets under 150 runs.If England gets India out under 250, and scores some quick early runs, they might even put Indian team under pressure. It will be a great test for Ojha and Ashwin then.

Pujara still going strong with 70 runs. Another century in sight?

England brought effective spin combination after inclusion of Panesar. Now India is in trouble making a spin favoured pitch. I think even wonders can't save India from a defeat.

Wankhede pitch certainly has helped fast bowlers in the past but this pitch is different, earlier we used to see grass on this pitch, but all that has been shaved off.Eng batsman are weak against spin, and the way ball is bouncing and turning on first day, chances are less that idea to play three spinners will backfire.Batting will certainly become tougher from here.Actually this was kind of expected when Dhoni complained about not getting rank turners after winning first test. However the tactics applied by Indian coach and captain is certainly debatable as India has lost jsut one series at home since 2001, and they have lost just two tests in last 5 years at home that too against SA only.Looking at that record i dont understand why Indians need to acquire such tactics to win,may be they are too eager for so called revenge of that whitewash in England.Tomorrow if Indians reach around score of 350,England will again be in saving mode rather than winning mode.

I think it isn't good for shining future of Indian cricket. After Kapil Dev's rise there is good progress in fast bowling abilities of Indian players. As we are seeing in the case of Mumbai test, England team is taking more advantage of spin favoured pitch after inclusion of Panesar. Let us see the final result of tactics applied by Indain Captain/coach.
