Advance merry Christmas enola1692!
Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and lots of other celebrations are man made. Some bright souls have started and carried them on to this day. Let's be thankful that all these celebrations have been institutionalized with distinctive titles and dates from one another. I understand them to give us respite, rest to give our weary souls, aching back and muscles from too much work. On these days we celebrate, pray, eat, drink, sing, and do merrymaking to refresh us from the daily bombardment of bad news, tensions and nature's weather disturbances.
We must take consideration that man is a unique animal. Some do pray fervently. Others don't. Some attach especially meanings to celebration, others don't care. That's mankind true perspective. If you see them busy in their stores or in whatever calling they are in, leave them alone. It's their way of celebrating the holiday, whatever it is. Business is brisk during holidays. Holidays smell money for them.
