I have planned to travel to Korean next year. To prepare the journey, I want to learn Korean, so that I can talk with Korean people by myself. But as have not enough free time, I have to learn the language by myself. Now I find it is quite hard to start, watching the learn programs day by day. I do not make any improvement. I want your help.

If you have no time to enroll your self in a language school, the next best thing in learning is through the internet. I believe that there are sites to teach you some basics of the Korean language for a start and later on, you can move to simple sentences. I have a friend who teaches basic english to koreans and it is only in internet that she have learned the basics. Good for you that you can travel in another country. Goodluck and tell us more about your travel there when you can.

Online learning is a good way to learn some new things, but usually the learning programs are short and you do not have the chance to ask questions and get answers like in a real class. To a new language learner, there are so many questions, I want to ask, without suitable answers, I can not make sure I master the language or not. But your suggestion is quite good, I hope I can get enough vocabulary for a travel next year.

Ofcourse it is still the best if you enroll yourself in a scool or training center where you can ask questions and be assessed. Tnere is even exams, maybe sample korean conversation.

I had worked in Korean company a few months ago,and actually all of them can speak English, and actually now there are so many Korean can speak Chinese,so actually if you just on the purpose to talk to Korean, then I think English and Chinese is enough. And there are 2 million Chaoxian minority can speak Korean, they born in this way,so if you have friends in this minority you can ask them for help.

The reason for me to learn Korean is to use the language in that country for a travel. It is said that most of Korean do not use English as a communication language in the country, especially to old people. If I want to work in a Korean company, especially the international company, I think most of the employees there can speak English well and it is not hard for me to work there. I think traveling is a funny things, with the ability of using the local language and culture background, it can make me love and know the country well.

language learning is a skill. thus, it needs practice to actually gain the skill and become good at it. i think you have a good motivation and start. exposing yourself from the words and pronunciation of the korean words through programs can help ypu a lot. be patient. it is quite hard to measure your knowledge unless you practice and take exams. i wish you goodluck.

Practice makes prefect. I know learning a language requires a lot of time and practice, but Korean owns too much deformations. I can remember the vocabulary, but I can not know how to use them in correct form in a sentence. While to different people, Korean has different ways to express the same meaning, while in my mother language all are the same. It is quite hard for me to understand and accept it. I now try to watch more Korean TV series. I hope it can help me to master the language.
