When we changed or transferred to another religion, did we also change our God?

Not all religions follow the same god or gods...The Creator is the G'd of the Jews. The christians added 2 more entities. The moslems worship allah their ancient moon god.
So, if you switch from one of these religions, according to their creeds, you would be changing gods.

Hi Olleenz greetings. I appreciate your inputs by way of using analogies. I heard many preachers and lay members alike saying the same thing.
I tossed to you the same answer I gave them, "If all religions leads to God, then there is/are no false religion(s)", end of quote.
All the best mangtony.

Hi, mangtony..
I have always believed in the God that the Bible teaches about, but when I was very young, I didn't know him much.
I went to Sunday school and listened to stories what they told - probably about Jesus..?? Then at school we learned about Bible stories.
I think the only thing I read in the Bible was Genesis and only the first verses.
I was about seven, when my mother started studying the Bible with two ladies who visited us. She learned that God has a name, that it is Jehovah, and that he will make the earth to a better place and we have the opportunity to live forever in the paradise here.
Later I learned more and more about how God expects us to live, and the more I learned to know him, the more I loved what I learned.
What I learned was different from what the Lutheran church had taught at school, so I could say that I changed religion when I learned to know God and the Bible better. I wanted to be with people who follow the Bible.
The true God was always there, and as he saw that my mother was willing to learn, he showed her the way he wanted her to go, by sending his Witnesses to us. He also saw that I was willing to learn and my mother taught me some truths that were new for me that time.
In the beginning we had only superficial knowledge but during the years we got accurate knowledge. I found a great article about "Accurate Knowledge" and how important it is that we search and pray for it. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2008685?q=accurate+knowledge&p=par
I hope you got an answer to your question..

May God bless you too!
We can not yet imagine how it will feel to be taught by the Creator of the Universe through eternity. There will always be something to add to the treasure of knowledge we can collect!

Hi Mangtony,
I was raised as a Catholic and believed in God, but didn't know much about him. Then I spent all the years of my 20's not sure if there was a God or not.
In my 30's I met Jehovah's Witnesses. They taught me that God has a name, and that his name is Jehovah. I also learned of all his wonderful qualities and the good things he has done, and will yet do for us in the future.
It wasn't only like I changed my God....It changed my whole life!
Keep up the good questions!

I am happy for you momalisa65. Keep it up. One piece of advise though, do not forget to apply what is written in Acts 17:11, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and SEARCHED THE SCRIPTURES DAILY, WHETHER THOSE THINGS WERE SO".
All the best mangtony.

Christian denominations all have the same God. Their form of worship is usually what is different or the way they understand the Bible, but we all believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
When you switch to a different religion, you accept the god they worship or their philosophy.

I think that if he converted from a heavenly religion a heavenly religion my answer will be: No , because Who sent the three monotheistic religions is one (God Amighty) .. And His religion one , God also will not change his religion from Messenger to another .. Change came from humans.
But if he converted from earth religion , to divine religion or vice versa would answer:Yes .

Hi samar54 greetings. According to your logic, if a religion is a monotheistic one, she a heavenly religion. So that anyone among the 3 you mentioned, a person does not changed God even though he transfer from one to the other.
But there are other religions who are monotheistic or believe also in one God, can we not consider them heavenly religion as well?
All the best mangtony.

Hi samar greetings. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this discussion. I am just curious to know those 3 heavenly religions you mentioned, before I will answer your question. Best wishes.

I am sorry but I think the question is pointless and irrelivent as all gods only exist in peoples heads not the real world. So your god is the one your brain tells you it is and if you change religions that image will probably change but it is still your god.

If you are transferring to another denomination, that will not change your GOD. But of course if you are Christian, you went Buddhism, that's totally a change of God. The GOD of Christians is not the GOD of PAGANS. Even in the OT, there are a lot of idolaters and the God of Israel, the God of Christians hated it because they are worshiping a different and false God.

It would really depend on which relgion you changed to or from. There are, for example, many polytheistic faiths that have more than one deity so to go to or from one of them to a monotheistic faith would be very much changing gods.
There are also people who are Henotheistic - they believe there are many gods but only worship one of those gods. If their relationship with that deity breaks down then they might find another.

Hi stary1 greetings. Your response is very much appreciated. Although, it makes me wonder why this one God, or Higher power or energy commanded that "You shall have no other Gods besides me".
All the best.

If we change religion it means we change our God literally. Example when you transfer from Christianity to Buddhist, your God will become Buddha not Jesus anymore or vice versa.

Hi,
i think when we change our religion we have to follow the rules and the God which is described by the religion. But we can worship God of other religions. God is only one but these are different forms of God. Teachings of all religion is one and the same. Every religion teaches us to believe in god.
