I watched the Amazing Spider-man but I don't like the new one. Because the new Spider-man is more like a boy than a hero. Besides, somewhat I think his character is a little evil in some scenes which I don't appreciate it. And especially this movie doesn't give me a big surprise. The story is similar with the Spider-man 1.

I was debating on whether to watch the new one or not. Reading your post and the posts below, now I have to. I have to see what the reboot did to this franchise. This will be the first 'reboot' I have seen. Reboots seem to be a little different from remakes, so I am interested, this will be the first film classified by it's makers as a 'reboot' that I will watch. I will come back and let you know what I think. From what people have written, I think it will be similar to what others have written.

Actually I have never watched the Amazing Spiderman. But many my friends said that the Amazing Spiderman is not as good as the previews Spiderman series. But The Amazing Spiderman has a lot of teenager fans especially girls. Those girls said that they like the movie because of the spiderman is very cool.

I don't like the new Spider-man either. The original one was sort of gimpy and this one really is. Why did they feel they had to come out with a new one any way? Just a punky producer wanting to make another Spider-man. Thinks his is best. I am Thankful you let me know. One less movie I will need to watch.

May be he is the son of the old spider man, fixing to take over his legendary father role to save the world from evil destruction after his old man is unable to continue fighting evil men out to destroy us. It is a re-run of the whole episode of spider man except may be add or minus a little bit of the old episode and re-scripted story line. It is like the James Bond movie, the director just change the actor who play the character -007 to a younger man, and then the same old stuff happen all over again. May be this time Amazing Spider Man can attract more teenage fans and audiences, making it another box office sales. I am tired of the spider man already, i need a whole new character and new title before i can enjoy this one.

yeah i agree with you. i almost slept when i watched it. the story is so plain and the characters are suck except Emma Stone who plays as Gwen Stacy. i like her and only she matches with Gwen character in Spiderman 3, beside only she can play very well. i know that we are not fair comparing Andrew Garfield witb Tobey McGuire but people cant be stopped to do this. Tobey is so down to earth and little bit clumsy but he matches to the character of Peter Parker. but Andrew is too young to play as Peter. He is also too handsome. the lizard monster is not too scary so the thriller cant meet the people's wish. the previous Spiderman's plot was so nice to follow and very enteryaining cos Tobey was so funny with his silly attitudes. my fave scene is when Peter were dancing in front of a boutique. Tobey is so silly but he is so entertaining with his silly dance. in this new Spiderman, there's no entertaining scenes at all. i never thought that the story is like that. maybe i wont watched The Amazing Spiderman 2 which planned release in 2014..

That's right I absolutely agree with you. I watched the thriller before deciding to watch it but I find it similar to the first one and have no plan on watching it haha. I am waiting for the new iron man this coming summer on 2013 and already watched the thriller and seems to be a great movie and can't wait to watch it??

I was going to make a topic about this before I ran into yours. Being that I'm a big Spider-Man fan, I was looking forward to seeing the reboot of the series. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it in the theater when it was out, so I rented it through Netflix last week. I watched it over the weekend, and I was somewhat disappointed after my first viewing. I thought the first two Spider-Man films with Toby Maguire were great, but the third fell way short. The guy playing Spider-Man in this movie seemed a bit too rugged to the Peter Parker we know.
Since the movie is a reboot, I expected the story to be similar to the first Spider-Man movie. No big surprise there. I'm going to watch the movie again soon since sometimes I have to watch a movie to few times to really know how I feel, but I was somewhat disappointed after the first viewing.

I don't agree with you, because new spiderman is different from other and that makes him uniqe. An maybe they wanted to make him similar to spiderman 1.

Hi youless!
How sad. Spider is my favorite character that is why I am trying my best to watch movies about it. Well, anyway if this movie will be played in our place soon, I will still be watching it. Thank you for the information.

It wouldn't be the same so I wouldn't waste my time to go and watch it, Toby McGuire was the real Spider man to watch someone else take the role would spoil it for me, I don't know why they had to make a new one, are they that stuck for ideas, that they have to cheat and redo a perfectly good Spiderman? Seems they are cashing in on an idea already raking in the money. This seems common to re-release films, like King Kong, Poseidon Adventure, with new actors but the same old storyline.

Hello
So far I haven't seen that movie, even was very excited about it.. But after this I guess I have to rethink about watching it. My few friends seen this movie and told me that it was okay, and yes they told me same thing that it wasn't that good in compare to old one(three series movie). But still as I love to watch action movie, but will not make some special program, will watch it on TV when it will arrive.

I agree. I like the Tobey Maguire movies better. This reboot was unnecessary. The new guy was not nerdy enough for me. He is the cool kid pretending to be a nerd by wearing glasses.
