Gothic does not mean that I am a devil worshiper

Since I was 16 I found the love for the Gothic style.
I've not only changed my furniture and my clothes I also changed the locations I went to and went to gothic festivals and clubs soon my friends gave me the nickname Gothicana but the most call me short Goth.
I am surprised how many people still don't know what gothic is and very often they think it are people that hang around the graveyard and sacrifice a chicken but they called grufties
Here I try to explain what gothic means to me cause not every gothic fan lives the same way or thinks the same way
-first gothic has absolutely nothing to do with the devil
Gothic is the old fashion way like the clothing and furniture fron the 1800century
For a lot of gothic people it is black , black is my favorite color cause it gives me something mystic
I don't know why a lot of people come up with black is bad but well I can't know everything
Like me a lot of gothic people have tattoos and piercings
It also gives a special kind of music but I don't like that very much.
That covers pretty much the Gothic style but I have to admit that:
I am a little vampire obsessed and I put that on my gothic list cause at that time people really believed in vampires
So my collectibles at home are like candles dark angels and a lot of sculls.
But even that don't makes me a bad person.
I even had my black wedding my wonderful stepdaughters put skeletons on my wedding cake and candles and sculls all over the place
So no I am not killing chicken on the graveyard I am not praying to the devil cause I just don't believe in him and I am not a bad person I am only a little different
The reason why I wrote this cause it still give so much misunderstanding and I like to clear this up

Welcome to mylot elenakat,
I agree with you it doesn't mean that you are gothic, punk,rockztar you are Ito a devil. I am goth and punk since I am grade school and do listen to rock music too and lot of gothic friends that love black color and studded clothes haha my family an friend never think that it's a demonic as long as I don't get anyone and you don't hurt people around you then and specially never forget god then you're good??

I completely understand where you're coming from! I've looked into the wiccan religion and have learned a lot of things that could be real and some things that have been made up just to scare people away from the religion.
I think all it really ends up being is that people that don't understand something or don't like the way it looks or sounds, basically anything not familiar tends to scare people even though it has been around for hundreds or thousands of years.

Too many people find it easier to classify someone despite having no understanding about that which they are judging. I doubt if this is likely to change and being misunderstood has probably become a way of life for many people.
I believe the term gothic was originally used to describe anything non classical, therefore gothic art or gothic architecture was anything that did not conform to Roman or Greek standards etcetera. Nowadays I believe it is simply a reference to a particular style. The style does not appeal to me, but neither does jazz music but I do not compare jazz musicians to Satanists or demons. Having said that, I have always liked gargoyles and would love to actually own one.
There is really only one way to deal with this situation, ignore it.

Thank you a lot and its not bothering me that people think that way
I just think it don't has to be that way
I remember after searching 35 years for my father and the first time he saw me again I thought he get a heart attack
Now five years later he knows I don't have anything to do with the devil and he says I never will understand you a person with such a good heart and giving her last shirt to the poor why do you don't show that
Well he is old but to show him that I love him I took all my piercings out and made him very happy with that lol

I like this style also, but I don't show this. I can't wear gothic clothes because I'm student and the aspect matters very much. I like gothic music, I was impressed by the architectural style, but I don't like the myths about this style and also the people's opinions about that.

Yes the architectural style is amazing.
Of course when you are a student you can't show it
I was lucky that I could show it cause I was raised in Germany
When I was younger I didn't like the people's opinion neither
Later on it just didn't bother me anymore
But now I can't even blame them cause so many lies are told about black magic sacrifices and evil the people don't know what to believe.
That's why I wrote this maybe I can make this more understandable

Wow...of course gothic style has nothing to do with the devil...gotic style appears in many churcs so...facepalm.Is nothing wrong to be like that if you like it;)
