I have seen many news channels focusing on a single issue for a long long time and leaving other issues on a side, why is that so?What i think is that some of them are paid or you may call it bribed by the political leaders and other stake holders,They create a lot of impact on our society,by using lots of attractive graphics, pictures and animations they try to convince people and make wrong things right in the eyes of the people.I myself dont like to watch news channels,i usually watch entertainment channels and sports channels on TV thats all.
What are your comments on it?

I think the media does not cover everything from both sides of a story. I do think they only tell us what our government wants us all to think. The people that aren't interested in what is going on around them and those that aren't interested in what their government is truly up to, are the ones that get diverted into watching sports and movies. Like Hitler said, divert the peoples attention so that they don't really know what's going on. I think the governments of today must have read Mein Kampf.

News manipulation happens often by taking a bribe. For common men it's difficult to identify such news and the biased views are imparted upon them. It's an unethical practice that have lot of socio-economic repercussions associated with it.

For many decades the Democrats have had an advantage politically because the three major networks, ABC, NBC and CBS, have been strongly biased toward the left and those policies and viewpoints. This was apparent in the recent presidential election. Diane Sawyer, ABC, was so happy during the election night coverage that Obama was winning that she apparently started celebrating early with some drinks and appeared to be tipsy on the air. I can remember another time many years ago when election results were being reported on one of the networks that they called one election when the Democrat was ahead with 1% of the precincts reporting results for the Democrat and another where the Republican was ahead with 1% reporting also for the Democrat. On that newscast when a Democrat was said to be winning, the reporter had a huge grin on her face and when a Republican was said to be winning, she had a big mean frown. There have been more interviews of candidates than I can even try to remember when they were very easy on the Democrat candidate and relentless with difficult and unfair questions on the Republican. They show the same type of bias on issues by the amount of coverage they give to one side over the other.

Well, news channels can be motivated. However, we can try to see that if they are endorsing one side too much over the other, we can try to be cautious while using information provided by such channels. And Product endorsements too should be viewed with caution.

I agree with the fact news is not objective. They make the news just like they make commercials.

It is true. Some events are so hyped up that people are only caring about that. If there's a huge scandal about a young woman getting killed, self-defense classes and safety of women on the roads is going to be all the talk, and get less talked about after the news wears off... also, they can really manipulate people by interpreting the same news in ía different ways, due to their political standing. Especially if someone is not at all home at politics, they would trust them.
