I moved to the countryside a year ago, to the place where I grew up. Although I know people here, it's a small place with a few options and limited things to do. I always loved living in a big city, I had more freedom, more options, more friends etc. Now every time I visit the capital city where I spent all of my student years I feel nostalgic and I want to go back! I still have some friends there but I don't have any place to live any more, an look for something new. I have things and people that hold me back but I always wanted something more for my life and I think I have the potentials. Would you take the risk and leave everything behind to start something new or you would compromise some of your needs for the safe choice?

You really have to weigh what you like. Whatever thing that would make you happy pray for it first and if things go on smoothly go for it. You also consider the things you might need living in a big city. Have a nice day!

Life is more expensive there, I will need tickets every day and I will have to pay high rent and other things that we don't have in the small city. I go to work with my bicycle or I just walk, I share my expenses and even the take out coffee costs less. I qill need to find a very good job to be able to afford all that. I am willing to try, but we'll see how it goes. Right now I am saving money for my future plans even if they are different at the end.

When I was 28 I moved more than half way across the US. My son was 9. I grew up in a good sized city. Plenty to do, for back then. But moving from Massachusetts to Colorado was a real change. Everything was so different out there. I stayed 6 months and came back. I was very lonely. There were so many things I didn't like about being there. I guess I'm just a New England girl at heart.

I understand what you mean! I am here for more that 1 year, and I am used to fast changes in my life and quick rhythms. I can back with the will to be creative and now everything moves very slow! Even though I have old friends and family, I still feel lonely as you said. Only my bf can understand me now, he moved back a couple of months ago.

i grew up in the country side, i hated the town i was living in, it was so small with nothing to do and it took forever to get to even the closest town where there were limited things to do. so a few months ago my fiance and i packed up what we could in just 1 day, we took our car to the scrap yard and moved out of state where we had nothing and knew noone, we both ended up getting jobs and there was lots to do so we were loving it but then the crazy roommate we had went on a freak out spree and anyway we ended up having to pack up everything we did have and move back to the town that we had just tried to get away from. now i dont really do much, i work, he works, and we pretty much sit around doing nothing when we arent working because there is just nothing to do.... if you want to go back to the city give it a shot but make it so that if things dont work out you can always go back to the small town where you know people

Right now, I am dreaming of moving outside the city. I would choose what I feel is right and makes me happy. Many people are not happy with their life.

I grew up in the city and spent most of my time there because of my studies. But my summer vacations and holidays are spent at grandma's place in the province. Whenever I'm in the province, I miss the city. Whenever I'm in the city, I begin missing the province and its clean air, clean surroundings, the big space. I guess I just want the best of both worlds. Now that I live on my own with my husband, we chose to live in the suburbs, two hrs drive away from the city and an hour away from the province of my grandparents. So far so good but of course when I have to do some errands and it must be done in the city, I begin to hate the travel time.

I think that the suburbs have all the good things of the big city without the pollution and the noise! Although I am a fan of the "city center", I like the suburbs and I think they are ideal for a family. The distances always become longer when you're in the city because of the traffic! In my small city, I will travel 40 mins and reach the beach and a slightly bigger city nearby. But in the capital, I needed 1 hr to go to the university every morning! I still prefer the big city though, everything works fast and we're never out of options! I used to meet new people every day and do so many things in my every day life. Now everything is easier and closer but we don't use that extra time to do something creative, it's just boring.

Awww too bad for that feeling. I never wanted big city though. Yes if it is for security purposes I could have live in another place and start anew. It is the security and safety of me and my family and I can never jeopardize that. It is okay to leave the place where I started my life, for the sake of everyone.

It's not about safety, in fact it's a very safe city here. It's great for family and children but not for young people. I always wanted to come back eventually but not so soon!
