This is both good and bad for me.
Good because on December 17th I will be done with school, completely! I will graduate and get my Associate's degree. I don't currently have any plans to continue my education.. I just want to find a decent job and see where things go from there.
The bad part about it almost being December is that Christmas is almost here.
I'm totally in a Bah-humbug sort of mood this year. It's probably the fact that money is way too tight and right now it's looking like I won't be able to get my kids anything for Christmas. I'm sure somehow I'll figure things out.. but right now it just doesn't look good.
Are you glad it's almost December?

Yes and no. Yes because it means we are that much closer to tax time and my giant tax refund. No because Christmas is coming and I have barely enough money to cover bills right now. I did get Lily the one thing she asked for today at work with my discount. It ended up being around $11.

Discounts are always helpful. That's why I was really hoping Target would have hired me for seasonal help.. but that didn't pan out. At this point I'm thinking it's pointless to try to find any sort of job to help with Christmas because by the time I get hired, start, and get my first paycheck Christmas will be over! But I was trying all last month..

I'm glad it's almost December and it's my most loved month:
* Because it's the month of my birthday - and I don't know what's so exciting with growing old.
* Because there's a chance I could receive two gifts - Christmas & birthday present. But others give me only one so at times I regret having my birthday on December.
* Because there's so many holidays - meaning time to rest from work.
* because there are lots of foods during this month.
It's like I have lots of money to enjoy this month but actually I don't have much. Well, after buying their gifts, now I don't have money to buy gifts for myself. Good thing mylot gave me some gifts - I spent my earnings here thru online shopping.

Normally I'm excited about it too, but this year we have too many bills and not enough money!

I'm so not glad it is almost December. I'm in the same situation with money being tight. I have no idea how I'm going to afford to get my kids anything this year. It's my first christmas being a single parent and I'm still not working so I don't have much money coming in. I've been trying to do as much as I can online but that isn't much. Congratulations on finishing school though! :)

Its not too bad here. I won't be having either one of my girls come home for Christmas so that is a bummer....but that's the way it goes. My son still lives around here but now he has a girlfriend that lives in Wisconsin so I'll have to see if I have Christmas with him or if they will be in Wisconsin....anyway....I am mostly ready. Just have a few things to make yet...and a few gift cards too. I am sure you will figure something out! And Congrats on graduating! What an accomplishment!

Christmas is only a week away now and January will be here before we know it.
I have been so busy and have only just got around ot answering your discussion, so I'm sorry but hope you have a very good christmas and find some money from somewhere, money is very tight for everyone this year, so lets hope that next year will be better for all of us.

Congratulations! I'm happy for you that you are graduating. Studying is very tough. Working is even tougher but once you get the hang of it, it will be very easy.
Remove your bah-humbug mood just because you don't have money. Real essence of Christmas is to reminisce the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. If you don't have money for now, just wish your loved ones a sincere "Merry Christmas!" and make a personal commitment that you work harder after graduation so that next year will indeed be a merrier moment for you.

Ugh...I know how you feel. The holidays are always difficult for us but usually we always figure out a way to pull it off. It is hard when you have so many children but I always tell mine to be thankful what we have have because there are so many others that have a lot less than we do.

Yes I am very glad that it's almost December. Not only because it means Christmas, (my favorite time of the year) is just around the corner but also because this means God has been really good. This year is about to end and yet not one day did He leave us nor allowed us to starve. We may not be that rich but just the thought of being protected and provided each day with food and other necessities by God is more than enough for me to be thankful to Him. So another year is in store for us and I believe He will keep showering His blessings. All we have to do is to open our eyes to see His goodness. Blessings do not mean material things always. It could be things money cannot buy like the love, happiness, companionship, laughter, fun, comfort, etc. that you loved ones and friends give.
Christmas could still be a joyful even even without that much money. Just learn to celebrate Christmas on the basis of the very reason why we have to. Even without money, without something new, or without gifts to gift there are still good reasons to be excited about Christmas. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. The problem is that this world has taught the people to exchange the real thought of Christmas to materialism. But the truth is we don't even need that much spending to celebrate Christmas After all Jesus whose birth we are commemorating was not rich when he was born. Remember... He was born in a manger, a very lowly birth not fitted for the King of Kings.

Am I allowed to be glad that it is almost December because of the fact that means that soon it will be 2013 and we will be getting our credit cards paid off in the first quarter of 2013. Also, I just believe in my heart that 2013 is going to be a much better year for our family.
As far as Christmas and everything goes, I have to admit that I'm looking forward to Christmas and the Christmas festivities as well. I consider myself to be very lucky that I was able to fund most of my Christmas shopping with my swagbucks (Amazon gift cards) and the money that I've been making online.

I don't care if that is December or still November. The good thing about Christmas is that I will get 2 days off from work, and I can rest at home. The bad part of it is, I have to do some shopping for my friends, inevitable, they might give me some gifts for the holiday, and in return, I have to do the same. It was more like an exchange of gifts. So, whether it is December or not, I don't really care about it.

Hey,
I'm sort of glad that it December right now. Happy because i'll be able to complete my final semester in London next year. (currently studying in singapore). On the other hand, before leaving for London, i'll still have to study for my finals which falls on the 4 and 7 of December.
I guess for every happy thing there will be something that makes us feel in the opposite way too.
What are you staying? Because in Singapore, Christmas is not much of a big thing here :)

Congratulations you will be able to finish your Associate Degree soon and you can find a decent job after. December's almost here yes! and I don't know if I will be glad or not. I am not working since August and of course same as you money is way too tight for me too. I wont be able to buy gifts for my nieces and nephews. But I will still see how things will work for me. Have a happy holidays ahead!
