Is The Alien/ET on Episode 3 of American Horror Story Real or What?

I forgot the episode number but I've seen the alien from the second season of American Horror Story. It is just a hallucination? But the doctor also sees it. I know that the "real killer" was revealed on the later episode but I am not sure if what Kit believes about alien abduction is real. What do you think?

Even the American Horror Story series is not real but I what I am asking is if the alien featured was a real sighting from what Kit and the doctor have seen.
