Chinese New year is approaching,many people put the wedding on now.Nearly a few days,have a lot of friends to the wedding.Ah,my wallet,almost empty,all the gift money.Friends ah,do you have the same thing?

Hi qw86289as! First question, when is the Chinese New Year? Sorry for being ignorant. I have a godparent who's a Filipino-Chinese. I think, if my memory serves me right, Chinese New Year falls on February. Am I right?
Anyways, what is the significance of marrying next year? What are the beliefs of Chinese? I'd like to know more about your culture and would appreciate if you can tell me something about it.
