Baking a cake at 1030pm

that sounds really good. hope you enjoyed it! i probably wouldn't bake that late just because that is the time i start getting ready for bed because i am beat. i try and bake during the day when i get the urge to bake. On Sunday I made chocolate chip cookies and there is nothing that compares to eating something just after it came out of the oven while it is still warm.

I hate dry cakes too. Have you tried putting the dry piece in a bowl and drenching it with milk? It is sooooo good, kind of like a pudding. And with an apple cake it would be like a baked apple! Of course you know you'll probably wake someone up with the wonderful aroma of a baking cake. When I get annoyed at the neighbors I either bake a cake or set up my bread maker to bake a loaf of bread that will be baking around 8 a.m.! It is so amazing how it frustrates the neighbors when they sit down for breakfast and they have store bought bread that doesn't smell anywhere near as good as the loaf that I am baking! I've had wives call me to complain about the loaves of bread and how their husbands demand to know why they aren't baking fresh bread.

Hope that your cake was very yummy and it didn't give you tummy ache eating so late at night. I have cooked late at night before, espically if I need cake and the children are in bed, its a very good time to get the baking done when it is quite.

I love cakes as well and I had bought one day before yesterday but it was not that nice. It was a strawberry cheese cake and I did not expect it to be so yack when i had bought it from a five star. Oh goodness, i will never eat cheese cake again here again.. actually I have had a cheese cake at Seoul Airport when I was on transit there, It was the tastiest one I have ever tasted in my entire life. Thinking of that I sometimes buy cheese cake here but not worth it. I am sure you made good one.. So you keeping it moist, sounds very very yummy. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead

HmMm cake!! One of my favorite. I too sometimes help my mother when she bakes during special occasions. I server as her assistant, I'm the one who mix things and the one who get her the ingredients. :)

I love cakes, but I mostly make them from scratch. I like apple cakes because I add ground clove and cinnamon. Sometimes I even cover them before I bake them with some brown sugar. YUMMY! I know what you did. I used to bake a cake late at night if I was alone and craving something sweet.

This sounds exactly like something that I would do and have done in the past. It has been a while since I've decided to bake something after I've gotten the children into bed. The last time that we decided to bake something after the children were in bed was chocolate chip cookies and we didn't even have most of the ingredients that were needed in the house so it also required a late night trip to the grocery store.
