Ouch! My finger was jammed!

I'm a bit paralyzed now. My finger was jammed in the car's door. I was so painful. Blood came out and my nail (pointer) was broken, cut into almost half.
Now I can hardly move it. I can hardly do anything. It's hard to type, encode, write or do anything with a broken finger.
So you, be careful always. It's not fun to have a broken finger you know, it never is. It will make you feel less useful. It will make you feel bad.
Be careful, folks. :)

When I was just a little kid, I was curious to see what my uncle was doing when he had the car's hood open and checking underneath it. He then slammed the hood shut without realizing that I had both hands resting at the edge of the car's area underneath the hood when it's closed. Needless to say I screamed, and my uncle quickly released the hood again to check on my jammed fingers. I did not think they were bloody or broken; but all ten of my finger nails turned black. Eventually, the nails came off after few days or weeks (I could not remember for sure how long) and new finger nails started to grow back.

Ouch, that really hurts my friend. And being young then when it happened, your fingers are too fragile to be pounded like that. I can imagine the pain what the car's hood had done to your young fingers, especially when the nails came off after a few days. That site is really appalling.

Even my mom could not bear to look at my fingers then. She was too panicking and all she did was yelling at her younger brother for what happened even though she must have realized later that it was an accident. Good thing her mom was there when that happened; my grandma was much calmer and was able to tend to me better.

Hey! Thanks for the reminder.
Have you tried consulting a doctor? You might want to stay away from myLot and give your finger a rest.

I didn't consult a doctor at all, I hope things will just be okay. I just self-medicate. I know first aid basics, think it works. Thanks by the way.

I'm concerned about your finger that got hurt by the door. I can feel the pain as if it was me whose finger got jammed. How is your finger by now? You must take a good rest as suggested by klstron635. Be careful next time. If you've kids, doubly give them lessons on the safety of opening and closing doors and windows.

Hello...
It was so painful typing. That's why after, I took a rest. I was actually inactive for quite a few days to avoid hurting my finger cause it's bleeding.
Thank you for the concern. I'm feeling a whole lot better now. Just waiting to be fully okay. :)

so, that's your fingernail on the driveway. The guard was looking for the owner of it this morning and he wondered who have left a fingernail there. My goodness it caused a great traffic jam. (just joking no offense meant.. I always say this because one time, somebody got offended). Yes thanks for the reminder and it will really cause you a lot I am sure, some even acquire fever after that kind of accident. It will slower you a bit. Thanks for the reminder again. you too be careful.

Throw a bandage on that finger and you'll be fine. There will certainly be some swelling and, if not already, will be turning blue and purple. It will heal in time.
If you think your finger is broken, you may want to see a doctor. A broken finger healing the wrong way will make the finger difficult to use permanently.

Hello Rigel,
Throw a bandage on that finger and you'll be fine. --Yeah, this is what I did. I never went to a doctor and just self-medicate.
Thank God all went well. My nail is growing back but I think it's not as nice as before since some of the muscles underneath were really distorted. Forgive me for the word.
Anyway, I'm glad all went well and I'm back.

AWWW! I remember my foot caught under the car tire when I was getting out of the car when I was in High School. Fortunately, only the tips of my toes were affected, otherwise, I could have broken some bones.
Hope you'll feel better in a few days.

Hello Jenny. Thank you for the concern. I really though I broke some bones since it was too painful and blood came out. Thank God that didn't happen.
After a week, I feel a whole lot better now. Thanks.

Well, first of all, let me say that I am very sorry for the incident happened to you and your finger!
I think at the moment it was unbearable pain. I think you're also going to the hospital to visit and get medical attention.
You will also rayed and they have concluded that there is a fracture.
To me, at the moment, has not happened yet, a similar incident luckily for me.
You have finished your discussion with a "be careful", a warning to pay attention.
I thank you and wish you a speedy recovery of your finger.

OMG, I know it is painful. My friend slammed the car door on my hand once and all four fingers were smashed. Good thing nothing was broken but I have to keep it bandaged to limit mobility to give it a chance to heal well.
I hope it gets better soon, but at least, you can still participate here in mylot.

I am concerned with you, I hope you get better soon, I can't imagine you to type this discussion, it must be painful. Yeah, I agree we always need to be careful. My finger almost jammed in car's door one time but luckyly I pull my hand in the right time so I am free from scratches or anything else like that. Oh, and you also need to give it antiseptic and bandage to prevent infection. Take care and I hope your finger will be better soon.

Hello! Thanks for reminding me about being careful with doors. But i feel sorry for what happened to your finger. But anyway, is it swelling? Does it hurt that much? Did you already take pain medications for that?
