Can you give an example of that? Since I think it all depends on the situation and the situation is not always the same. Looking back I think it also depends on age, profession, etc.
Although I must say somehow it all is getting back at how it once started. As a kid I was always listening, speaking less, observing. I learned a lot from that. At a certain point I had to act, to safe my life, be alert.. still not speaking that much but also not really time always to listen to others although I did help out many people. I tried to be more "social" but it's not really my thing. I like to listen way more as to speak. I don't like to be in the public/middle of the attention. If necessary I do speak and I won't allow anyone anymore to interrupt me especially if it comes to the way the treat my children (or me..but less). I can't say I am the one keep doing without listening although it surely happened that people thought it was that way. Fact is I am an observer, a very fast thinker and worker and if I go for something yes I go on doing it without listening.

You give your experience an example anyways. I don't need to elaborate more and what I need to say is to appreciate your contribution here. I am always in the middle but I am always into doing without listening rather than listening without doing. Let of say that I always based to instincts and when I didn't get it them I will asks for some help. And thank you again for sharing your thoughts and ideas.

Actually I think we have something in common and it is all about being observant for I am always like that. I have too much instruction for it sickening me... LOL

In my case, I always keep a clean head and start listening to further details or any instructions before performing or doing any tasks that I am told do so. It’s good to listen before rushing in to some things because in a way it can help you perform the task better and that you yourself would know what you are doing. Rather than working on something without knowing the instructions of such.

Case to case basis you are right there. If we don't know what we will do then we need to listen first but although their are certain times that it's better to listen, there are also time that we need to base on our instinct. For example, we are not required to do good but we need to do it for that is part of being human. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i think it depends on the situation we are into. There are at times when we are disturbed and distracted by many irritating people when we are busy or are at work and i mostly give a deaf ears to them and keep working without listening to them.
At times when i am so much engrossed listening to my favorite music or song that i forget if i was supposed to carry out a task at that moment. Ha ha ha.
What say?

Haha.. I think we a ll have done that one time or another.
But listening- being a good listener - is great!
I think being a good listener attracts people.
It makes you more knowledgeable and mor3e confidence on what you have to say.
And besides being listened to is the second best thing in the world..According to Karla of Shantaram!

I do try to stop what I am doing and listen, if it is indeed important to that person at that time. I know there are times when I want and need someone to really listen to me and I appreciate their undivided attention. So, I try to give others my undivided attention when they need it. Other times, they are OK and I am OK when we talk while doing something. Sometimes, talks can be more meaningful when we are taking walks or doing an activity together. It just depends on the situation. But either way, listening is important.
