Missing my Papa

18 years ago... A man fell in the ground. I curiously eyed him and to my shock he is my father. I was only 13 and stupid, I let other people bring him to a hospital while I don't know what to do then. When realization struck me, I immediately proceed to where my mama is working, after telling her the story we rushed to the hospital to found out he is already in commatose situation. After a day, he passed away... ;( I don't know why I brought this story for it happened many years ago but the truth is until now, I am blaming myself for I was the first in our family that was there but let the other people help him... I miss you, Papa!!! ;(

Please don't be too hard on yourself. You didn't kill him and you were just too young to realize quickly what you needed to do. You did the best and wisest thing to do, which is to inform your mother about it. There was nothing you can do to stop it from happening. So, forgive yourself and keep praying for your father's soul.

It's a normal feeling that you miss your father. I even miss my estranged father, too. Despite the harsh thing he's done to us and our mother, I still miss him for being the best father he once was to me and my siblings. It's sad that, although, he is still alive, he is not with us.

Remembering the past experience that we had can be of a help to us, if we use it as a stepping stone to become a better person. I don't blame you for what had happened. It happened for a purpose. Therefore, I believe that you don't need to let this affect you much and put the blame on you. What is important is what we are today, what we have today. When similar things happen, we now know what we can do. Forgive yourself and move on.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Hey i feel so bad about your father and i think u should never blame yourself for his demise. U know what, in such situations even the wisest of the wise people often fail to run their mind because in such crunchy situations your mind gets flooded with so many emotions and feelings that u fail to understand what to do and what to skip. I know u must be missing your Dad very much and i know wherever he is, he must be missing u and his family also. I hope his soul is rest in peace. Do not blame yourself again OK. What say?

sorry to hear this. and really losing someone in life is hard and difficult. I am already adult when I have lost parents. Still they were the foundation of family.
