Well, I am from South ndia and i want to buy women Lycra Leggings for my friend. He actually cant as he feels shy and wanted me to buy that. GIVE ME IDEAS, BEING A MEN ON HOW TO GO A SHOP AND BUY WOMEN LEGGINGS)..
The story is like this -
Well one of my friends recently got a job at a big company at design engineer. In the past years before he never had much interactions with much women (Except his relatives). Even at the start of the career he worked for BSF (Border security force, India) where there too he was always asked to maintain discipline and stay away from women..! At his new office now (as he is out of BSF), he has many women colleagues.. And Recently one of the lady colleague revealed to him that she loves him..!! Well thats a good news..
Yesterday he called me up and requested a help.
He said that his love lady's birthday is coming up in December and she has asked him to buy a women's lycra leggings and women's top for her birthday.. He said to me personally that, he fells that she had asked him those to check his shyness..
But since he has shyness to walk into a store and buy, he asked my help for buying those from a shop!!
Well now i am at bad situation that -
1. I dont have a GF either, so that i can ask her..
2. I dont even have Women colleague friends at work (as i work as Production Engineer at a manufacturing company with only men employees), so that i can ask them for help..
3. I can't ask my mother for that help too. Well u know why...!
4. Ordering Online is a problem for both of us as our families has mother who dont wear Leggings and tops. They only wear Saree..
5. i cant say no that friend too, as he had helped me a lot before.. SO i said i will try my best..
So even though i have idea to go to a shop and buy leggings for his GF, I too feel shy to go and buy them at a shop as i have never bought any women clothing before except a Saree which a bought for my mother for her birthday from Mumbai.. It was nervous when i was buying that saree!!
(Saree is no Abuse clothing and has no size. but Leggings is for Girls and has size)
So any guys/men from India, who had experience before in buying women's Leggings or skirt please share with me and give idea on how to get them from shop!!
Will the shopkeeper abuse me for asking those??
Please help..

I think that it is not much of a problem coz the salespersons in the malls can help you with whatever you want to buy. Just tell what you want to buy and maybe you could ask her any suggestions that would make the top go with the lycra leggings. Good thing those were the ones requested by his girlfriend. I remember my brother in law's girlfriend requested him to buy her underwear! But he readily obliged. I just don't know how he knew that the size would fit her.

Thanks a very lot to Jenny and Subhojit,
I finally allotted sometime today and took the risk to venture out to know
"Let see what happens".
And Surprisingly, Just like as u both said, The all went in a very positive way..
I would have visited at-least about 6 big textile shops around my locality and went directly into the Ladies section at 4 of them.. Luckily, none of the shops where crowded and the lady attenders there were really helpful. Though they where not able to get me what my friend wanted (Spandex/lycra Leggings with no Cotton), but they tried the level best to show me different varieties of leggings they had..!
WOW!! Today only i came to about all these ladies clothing..
They made my mind free to check out very variety they had at every shop..
But though they were free minded to showcase what i wanted, i had sweating little because in my life yet i had been to Ladies section with my mother only but i never been to Ladies section before ALONE.. NEVER...
But those all Ladies Attenders at all shops i visited were all polite and only had sales mind/duty minded..
And NONE of the Ladies/men Attenders at any of the shops asked me "To whom u r buying these for?".
So, Today, Really the Good thing was - my new sweat-full little fear mixed venture was all good without any embarrassment anywer..
BUT, the other surprise, the bad thing is, "I did not find the product my friend needed.." :(
Only one out of 7 shops had a bunch of colored non shiny Nylon Leggings.. I touched and felt the fabric, it was 100% nylon and elastic but the cost was very low and looked cheap too.. I will ask my friend if thats ok. If he say Ok, i will go again there and buy it and matter finished.
Otherwise, i would have to allot some-other time some-other Day ASAP to find it somewer else.. OR else i would have to leave the rest with my friend...
May be today i felt helpful because most of the shops i visited today were independent shops and Most importantly "Most of them where without customers"
But i don't how it would be to venture at a crowded shop with young girls around or at a busy big shopping mall..
Anyways, i thank u both for giving me the confidence.. I did this, not only for my friend, but also for me personally which will help in my future for my wife.. I thank my friend too..

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation and i know how it feels when a guy who has no single idea about the women's outfit is being forced to shop the same.
I think u should not feel embarrassed worried or tensed regarding this as this thing usually happens with most of the guys when they want to give their mother or female friends and they have no single idea about it.
May be u can accompany another female friend of yours who can help u out in shopping such stuffs.
What say?

Thanks for the Replt Subhojit,
I think u did not read my Question Story completely (Obviously the story is big and most will not read completely :-( ).
As i had said above that, i dont have girl friends myself, that also means that i dont have female friends both as Colleagues or as just friends..
Similar to my friend, I have also not interacted much with women before in my life yet and thats the problem which makes me worse as i cant say no to him with this help DIRECTLY...
Confused..
Any Other idea to try myself ??

This is a common reaction; men get the feeling of being awkward to buy things for women. If you feel that you can’t endure buying women’s apparel in malls or boutiques. You can always rely on online shops. But if you want to dare yourself you can always go to your local boutique or malls and ask for the right size of the leggings you want to purchase for your friend.
A simple conversation with the sales lady will help you in determining which leggings should put perfect for your friend. But you should ask the size before purchasing the item. Also, ask her about what colours would she prefer or has the interest with her eyes. Women pay close details to colours and embellishments so you should also consider it on your shop find.
