many of us want to sleep as little as possible or feel like we have to.there are so many reasons that seem more interesting or important than getting a few more hours of sleep.but just as exercise or nutrition are optimal for health and happiness, so is sleep.the quality of our sleep is directly affects the quality of our waking life, including you mental sharpness, productivity, emotional balance, and even your weight

I might be an exception, because I love sleeping and try to get enough sleep each day, and I can't really function without proper sleep with the occasional exception. I know for myself a good dose of sleeping is desired, because I feel fitter and nicer, I don't have any dark circles, I don't feel sick or woozy throughout the day, my skintone is more even and glowy and I'm more sharp mentally.

Actually sleep requirement of every person differs. For example my mother who is 73 years old sleeps more than 8 hrs, whereas I am 48 and sleep less than 7hrs per day. Actually it is the quality of sleep that matters, some who sleep very deeply require even less than 6 hrs an they are perfectly healthy.Sleeping less than your requirement makes you ill that is for sure.

Most adults are sleep deprived, causing marked reduction of our productivity, concentration and quality of work, as well as an increase in moodiness, stress, accidents, illness and shortened life span. We are more likely to succeed at our tasks and enjoy greater well-being if we get enough sleep. So getting enough sleep is important to us.
