I only have a few fellas whom I consider true friends. I do have workmates and friends but these people are just the transient ones. They don't last that long. They're gone when you're no longer at the workplace or when you don't communicate with them for quite a while. Right now, I'm still on the search for a really good friend and who I think would last even a lifetime.

I don't think there's a recipe for that. You just have to be open and of a good friend material. Time would help. A true friend can appear out of nowhere. I only have one real true friend, but that's enough for me, I'm really glad for her, because I know there are people who have no true friends, just buddies, who are great to go out with, but when they need true support, they are not there. At least I have one person that I can truly count on.

Personally, although we can actually choose who friends will be, there's still no guarantee that they will be true and lasting friends. I guess the best thing to do is for us to be always true to our friends even if they might not be what we expect them to be. Sometimes when our friends see that we our honest and really a true friend, they become honest and true friends also to us.
