I just wayt for my first DSLR camera

Tomorow my Canon eos550D must come to mee i will be so happy. I just wait to see the diference from 550d and my old camera. My old camera is a Fuji Finepix s5800 it is a compact camera , a very cheap price but she take greate photo sometimes i say sometimes bucause it is a little slow. I just wayt to put my hands on that dslr and take a greate picture and i will post here because i whant to be a good photographer. I hope i will be it must. I have a question i dont understand something i will have a 300mm lens and my old camera was have 10x zoom. What meens that 300mm zoom its more then 10x zoom or not. I serch antire internet for that respond and nowbody know to well maibe you will have a good answer for me TANK YOU
