I've painted my old foot wear in some funky colors I'm very happy that I can use them again. It is the best way to save money & try something new instead of throwing waste. I love to paint & crafts today I want to do some craft & I did this. :D
I'm also attaching a pic of my work have a look on it too (:

Wow! It looks really pretty! I actually do the same kind of thing, too... like I paint my old jewelry with nail polish, I'm gonna use old papr stuff and decals for scrapbooks and stuff... I'm really for recycling and being creative. At least noone else is going to have the same stuff as me :).

How fun! I am trying to be thrifty and cut down on waste, too, but I haven't made anything so interesting. I have been cutting up old clothes to make into clothes for our son, or to make cleaning cloths, that kind of thing. It depends what the old item was. I don't think I'm really saving much money, but every bit counts and it seems wasteful to just throw stuff out.

I do recycle stuff. A lot actually. I don't just throw things away. What I do is think first of anything I can still do with it and I can think of something then I keep it but if I can't then that's the time I throw it to trash. I think a lot of things can still be functional if given a chance. I love recycling and refashioning. Oh and by the way, I love what you did with your sandals. It looks really nice and it looks like you bought it that way. Anyways, What paint did you use? I want to try this out someday, since I have a few old sandals that maybe I can paint too.

I recycle everything! I remake old clothes, shoes, hats, and more. I recycle yarn from old sweaters and shawls and make afgans for nursing homes. I buy $1 flip flops and remove the cheap top straps and either crochet new ones or take extra fabric from an outfit I made and use it to make new straps. Instant matching outfit and shoes. lol

When you have a knack for arts and crafts, you can really do a lot of things with your old stuff. Too bad I'm not good with those. But I do try to recycle things that I could. Simple things like compiling unused pieces of paper and bounding them to make notepads. And sometimes, I reuse biscuit cans with nice designs and put trinkets or something in it to either give as gifts or sell

We recycle. You can turn clothes into quilts. You can transform your sweaters into new ones by unraveling them, or turning the old sweater into a purse. A friend goes to thrift stores to find sweaters to unravel. You can make rugs from rags and also from plastic bags via knitting/crochet.
