We have probably encountered some people who've made that statement, "money is not important, or money is not the most important." Yes, money may not be the most important. It may not buy happiness but I came to realize that money affects all that is important to us. I also realize it's a lie when we say that money is not important. Some may have some great arguments about what is said here. It would be very interesting to know. Your views.

Money is not important...until someone in your inner circle makes it important. It's good to have, but also bad because the more you have, the more problems come with it.

Oh great. ...until someone in my inner circle makes it important. I can't argue with such a truthful situation. It all depends on how we use or be used by money. It's always good to have and use it for the benefit of all.

Money is very important but, of course, it is not the most important.

I think those people who say that is either lying or has rich mommy and daddy to supply $$ indefinitely in their entire life, so they don't realize the value of money. Even though money can not buy happiness, it is still important in making us relevant in today money driven world. I only can wish those who said that statement can give out their money quickly and unconditionally to those who need them badly if it is not important at all, so why want to keep them at all. Saying is always easier than done, end of story.

Money is a protection for us in so many ways. As we all know we have to have money in order to provide the necessities of life. In order to have a home, to provide food and clothing for ourselves and our family. After that though anything else can be considered wants. We have to have a balance.

Of course we need money, since we are all living in the world which the money runs the lives of people, without money we can't buy anything for out daily needs in order to survive... But then there must be some circumstances in which we tend to compare money with another objective, for example money over love or family... Then i guess if anyone here in this discussion will choose money over the two of this then, that would be a big issue, i mean will you choose to have this good fortune when you will be alone and all your love ones will be gone... some may say yes.... but for me its a no... money is not everything... yes we need money but it is not everything...:)

I agree money is indeed important but we should not be too focused on that alone as we also need to focus our lives to other things other than money. I believe that if you say money is not important you are just lying to yourself just to justify your lack of it. There is actually nothing bad in saying it as an important part of our lives and it does not connote you to being greedy. You are just acknowledging that it is part of human needs to survive and flourish in our lives. It has become an integral part of our lifestyle so we should not say that it is not important at all.

Truly, it is an integral part of our life in this kind of generation and environment we are in. It is an important tool that affects almost all that we are engaged in.

Hi good ,
Who said that money is not important? Nowadays that saying is not applicable anymore. We all need money not just because we want to have an abundant life. We need it to support the basic needs of our family but sometimes what a pity for those who worship money and become selfish and do things bad just because of money. All things that are unreasonable are not good.

Of course, those who say money is not important must live outside civilization.

Money is important but not the most important thing in life. It shouldn't be the decisive factor though like when you want to marry or get a divorce or move to another place. You should marry for the right reasons and if it's for money then that wouldn't be the right reason.
I would say that money isn't everything but it does seem that everything needs money. Without money, we may be deprived of a lot of things. A little money would help.

a little would surely help but having more with the right motive will be a blessing to many people and nations.

Money is important and I doubt anyone will argue with logic on that one but money won't ensure happiness, success etc. Think of money as a tool to helping a person in their life. Without money many families land up getting divorced, children grow up with a lack of solid education and of course health issues but having money doesn't make you happy.
Everything in moderation!

You've got it right. Money is a great tool to be a blessing to others and improve lives, not only for us and our family but for others as well.

Some people LIVE for money--well, obviously not; but a guy at my Fellowship (Church Club) does EVERYTHING for his JOB ... friends, church, & EVEN FAMILY have to wait in line--so I looked up the 'etymology of' (historical root of the word) "money."
It's rooted in the same word as 'monitor,' "Monet," a title of the Greek goddess (or was it Roman) Juno, a title which gave her the power to 'give people the power to buy & sell things' (a power which is prophesied to be 'limited to those who bear The Mark soon' ... tells you why people are so quick to find "666" (the number of the name of the Beast) on the American currency.)
But that's what the "true sense" of 'money' is---a marker of the power to buy & sell. You sell your time to your employer, and so you buy things with your 'having sold your time,' and so-on.
Now, if you could buy & sell without money, you wouldn't have to 'bear The Mark.' It starts with 'selling your time for only the good you can give & receive then.'

That's a wonderful search result you've got. Sacrificing just for money alone may not be worth at all in the long run.

You are right, money can't buy everything, but without money, we can't buy anything. So it is so strange to talk about the importance of money. Money is just a kind of living tools.

I like that phrase..."without money, you cannot buy anything." That is so true. Do you have a lot of this tool?

Thanks for sharing this topic. I totally agree with that. Even if you don't think about money all the time, still, problems would arise and in some cases the root cause would be about money. But for me, I would still , and I'll always will think that money is not important. "Family" is more important.

That's one way to see this thing about money. Family is more important than money, which is true. However, without money affects our family. It is one of the top three (3) reasons why there are in-fightings in the family which lead to - divorce.

Money may not be the most important thing, but without it in our lives, it would be hard to do anything, as most of the things we do, involves money in one form or another. I know, I need money, and lots of it, but that is another story. I am just thankful for what I do have, as in the end, it all adds up, even if it isn't all that much to start with. When it comes to mylot, learning is more important than the money. that is one of the reasons I come in here is because of the learning aspect of it, and the fun I have, but yes, the money is good too, and a bonus. Take care, and have a good day.

Money is important! It may not be the most important thing in life, but we gotta have it, we all need it. We have to buy food, pay rent or mortgages, buy gas, pay for insurance, buy clothing and household goods. Yes, money is important, I heard it was as important as oxygen.
