It is hard since she can't open a book to read it. I might get her something to wear like earrings maybe. It depends or maybe a cup with her grand kids on it. I can't make up my mind yet. Does anyone have any ideas?

Jewelry is always great with women, and I like the cup idea, too. Cups and mugs are really cute and nice. You could also give her wellness tickets, spa tickets, a nice sweater or dress...

Hi shaun! Personally, I gave my mom a wrist watch last Christmas, bag on the other Christmas and a wallet for her birthday. This Christmas, I am planning of giving her a bag or sandals. Well, sometimes she would request for something so I would give her what she wants. Anything can do. what is important is that you show her how you love her. Have a nice day!

You don't have those hearing books in your country? The one on a tape/cd? If she likes stories these are nice (no need to open it). If you are a great story teller (or know someone who is) you can also read a book for her and burn it on a cd. That would make a great personal present. Ps you can even make up a story yourself, or about your life with her and your kids.. more personal it can't be. Personally I don't like cups with pics on it. I hope my kids will never give that to me.

You can always go for the basics, Moms usually are sentimental when it comes to gift giving most especially when they received gifts from their children. Some great ideas would be customize items like jewellery such as customize necklaces where you can engrave a portrait of you and your mom on the necklace’s pendant that way, it has a more personal touch to it. And don’t forget to put on a personalize card which has words with appreciate and love written on it.

Can she eat chocolate? My husband's diabetic, so I know not to get him chocolate. I am getting chocolate for my mother and step-dad. I'm ordering Milky Way bars from the States, since they love them so much, and can't get them up here. I know someone on eBay who sells them cheap, so I'm just going to get them. Not a big expensive gift, but something I know they will absolutely love!

If she is fond of clothes may be you could get her something that she could wear on Christmas. And may be a good pair of shoes to go alongwith it. Jewellery also would be a good idea.

Winter is coming. I think maybe you can get some warm clothes for your mother. Most of the old are afraid of cold winter. This is the special gift for your mother. then you can have a family gathering and celebrate birthday. You know what singing Happy Birthday song to your mother will move her to tears. Remember to give a big hug to your mother to show your affection.
