I'd love to shop on Amazon but I have problems with their shipping process. Shipping to my country takes forever so I'm wondering if I could just swap my gift card to cash?

The short answer can be found in Amazon's Help pages:
"Can I transfer my gift card balance to another Amazon account, or cash it out?
No. Unused gift card balances in an Amazon account may not be transferred to another account. Amazon.com Gift Cards are not eligible for a cash refund unless required by applicable state law."

There are some sites which offer to buy certain Gift cards for cash - PlasticJungle is one example: http://www.plasticjungle.com/ - nut they will NOT buy Amazon gift cards (because otherwise they would be breaking the terms of their agreement with Amazon). If you find a site or an individual claiming to buy Amazon gift cards, they are almost certainly operating illegally and you stand a very good chance of losing your money.

But there may be possibility that you can sale out those somewhere else in exchange of cash. You can post your offer at various forums and blogs etc.
This is just an idea, I have never used it before yet. Hope, it will be against the Amazon T&C.

in general probably you can't exchange an amazon gift card in cash i think even amazon policies support this thesis...so probably you must find a way to use it wisely but always on amazon..
