When I was pregnant, my husband and I bought adorable baby photos and then hung them on the walls. Here we thought that pregnant women should see more lovely and beautiful things and it is beneficial for the babies. We had a cute baby at lastDo you have the similar custom?

No, I did not get those cute little baby photos.
Reason being I do not like to nail my room's wall.
So, during my wife pregnancy, she stay at home and
watch television. I told her do not watch any scary
movies!

I've never heard of such a custom. I don't think it's so much about what is on the wall, but about the attitude of the pregnant lady, and those around her. I have never been pregnant, but I know a lot of others who have. This is not something I've heard of them doing.

The elderly believed that looking at monkeys will affect my unborn child. Either my baby will look like a monkey or would inherit the behavior of monkeys. I never believe all those sayings. My son was born perfect human and non of that monkey characteristics.

I think it gives you happy pleasing feelings while you look at lovely photos during your pregnancy period. The positive energy and vibes not only keep you happy but your entire system works better and that is what is required to give birth to a happy and healthy baby.

No, we don't have that custom observed here, but it is generally good and beneficial for the mother and child inside the womb to keep a positive mindset. Having pictures of inspirational and beautiful things around would surely help.

I wouldn't. Most baby pics, especially the ones I find at shops, for me, are extremely tacky, over-photoshopped... and why would I want to see someone else's baby? I only want to see mine when it's born... I mean, I've never been oh-so lovey-dovey on babies. If I wanted nicer things that could remind me of the baby, I would start buying stuffed animals for her or little baby clothes and keep in our room until he or she's born. And of course, start furnishing the baby's room :). Or better, I would start a scrapbook for her, or a series of scrapbooks of her life, the first one being about how we waited for her.

Most people do it here :) We also did the same. I am in my second trimester and we hanged a huge poster in our bedroom just in front of bed so that i can see it everytime :), In this picture a very cute, healthy baby laying in a fruit basket wearing a nappy only. We also hanged a pic of 'bal krishna" (baby God krishna of hindus) I hope our baby will be cute and healthy like the baby in poster and naughty as bal krishna was..

Hi youless, i have heard of this from my colleague too. Seems like this is mainly the Chinese tradition. When my colleague was pregnant, she puts cute baby pictures as her desktop wallpapers and mobile phone. Besides, she would always search for more cute baby pictures to see all the time.
For me, i like to see cute baby photos and pictures too. So, it is not something i would do only during pregnancy. I suppose, pregnant women loves to see something cute and adorable is normal, maybe just a psychological effect to make them feel better. I heard that being pregnant has a lot of stress and worries.
Well, if seeing cute baby photos would help comfort you and make you feel better, why not?

I think it is not a custom here it's been scientifically proven that a baby in a mother's womb can copy or can have a similar what ever mother always want to see. But when I was pregnant I just don't make fond of looking into horrible and unusual image. My daughters have a cute two dimples on her cheeks that she got when I was making fond of my co-employer cheeks when I'm conceiving her. And we're surprised that she got it we don't have that kind of traits in our family.

I heard of this too. During my pregnancy, I did not buy any cute baby photos.
However, my mum advised me not to look at ugly and scary things. Many television
drama always show how a pregnant lady room full of adorable baby photos on the
wall.Yes, your baby is cute ...

I did not do the same. I never did anything out of the ordinary. I was just dealing with it like any other day. I wasn't told of any custom regarding pregnancy.

When I was pregnant I quite used to hide. I was somehow ashamed of my body changing. Really silly, if I think of it now. It is just a normal situation of which we should be proud and happy. After many years I understood that. So it never came to my mind of having baby photos.
