In case of fire do you know how to use the fire extinguisher

Most offices in our country have fire extinguishers placed in in the building. But in case of fires most of us dont know how to use them. I had been taught this a couple of years back but I dont remember exactly how and I am sure if there is a fire I will go completely blank. There should be regular fire drills so that poeple know what to in case of emergencies.

Hello kavaryan. First of all, thanks for being my new friend. In our building we have fire distingushiers on each floor. Years back we were taught how to use a fire distingushier, but I have never tried to use one. It is mainly because there is no fire breaking out. Everyone is very careful. Take care.

Yes, there should be fire drills specially if it is a big company or big building. People should somehow know what to do in case of fire. There are a lot tragic stories that have happened due to non readiness to event like this.

aside from that fire drills, fire extinguisher of type D (is that for all kinds of fire) should be placed in the building as many as they can. not just 1 per floor at least 2 or 3 per floor.

I believe I still remember how to use the fire extinguisher. But first of all, when fire broke out inside your office, do not panic, otherwise, you cannot think strait. If the fire is still small, and if you think it is manageable, just remember 3 things as you run for the fire extinguisher: PULL the pin, AIM at the base of the fire, and PRESS the lever.
We use to have a fire drill once-a-year in my previous workplace but I notice that only about 5% of the crowd is participating in the use of fire extinguisher. People should take interest into this as it can save lives and property when the need arises.

You make is sound so easy. I have never experienced a fire in my life and hope I never have to. But I dont think I would remember the instructions after panicking. I think everyone should be given regular fire drills so that each one knows whats to be done in case of emergency.

Hi,
you are right. in every offices there are fire extinguishers but many people don't know how to use them. Everyone should know how to use it so that in case of emergency anyone can use it. Our building we don't have fire extinguishers.
