Here in our country, Philippines, families stay up until dawn on Christmas eve. At 12MN, families gather to eat noche buena. This year, I plan to do all the cooking, since I will have enough time to do it. Last year and the years before, I was too tired because I was working, so, we just bought most of the food we prepare.
I plan to cook beef steak with pineapple, spaghetti or carbonara, menudo (pork stew with carrots and potatoes), make fruit salad and probably bake a cake, too.
What do you plan to have for noche buena?

In our family we get together for Noche Buena and we eat together and give the presents to the children the 24, so that they have time to play with them two days. I will take care of the cooking this year too, as my daughter is too tired working and minding the children. I am planing on a cold buffet, with either roasted pork or roast beef. I will make several salads and will tell my daughter to buy a cake. Just like last year, I`ll make cupcakes. They were wonderful, because children grow hungry before us, grownups, are ready to serve the diner.

Wow, you do all the roasting and baking?! That's just grand.
We would also have a couple sweets or desserts served which also makes for a good snack. The kids love it, and myself, too.

I`ll kill two birds with one stones with the cupcakes. I will have my grandson over twice for a couple of days before Christmas. So I`ll make cupckes and we`ll decorate them together.

That's really cool. I wish my daughter could be more helpful when I bake stuff. She'd be excited to come near the table, but she'd always end up adding more mess, so I limit her involvement. But, I can't wait till the time comes that she'd be big enough to really help mommy in the kitchen.

I love the feast on christmas day. Diet will be on vacation for 2 weeks, since New Year's eve is another food trip.
