Hello MyLotters!
Having read that Anne Hathaway literally went on an oatmeal diet so she could carry the part of Fantine in the new film Les Miserables, I wondered if this was safe to do. I am looking to lose between 10 and 20 and of course, want to be safe about it. I'm not looking to crash diet but sure would be nice to lose another inch off the waist and I do excersize regularly.
If this is a safe diet, has anyone else had any luck with it?
Thanks for listening. :-)

Many here in mexico say oatmeal is a great diet. Most make shakes for breakfast out of it.. or cookies. I guess it works for them.

I have never tried this one but have tried many fad diets over the years.. LOL I find they all work..for awhile.
I found to keep my interest, I used to try different fad diets and would always lose a few ponds..20 pounds is a lot from a fad diet..so if I were you I would try the diet then see how it is going for you. If you are healthy otherwise, a week or so won't hurt. If you get that 'let me out of here' feeling, switch to another diet..preferably a balanced one.
Still the best diet imo is just cutting down..we all know this and find it hard to do..but it's the best. Avoiding anything not healthy is still the best way. I add extra fiber to keep from getting hungry and I drink milk to kill hunger pains..good luck and all the best to you!!

I like oatmeal but not too sure I want to eat only oatmeal! My first thought was was about all that fiber. That would keep me running for sure! I would probably add to many other things to gain any benefit from it at all. I have to have protein so I'd add walnuts and of course if you add any fruit and honey for flavor... not sure it would work! lol

I tried doing that diet but it made me dizzy after an hour. So we really need to incorporate some fruits with it and also, we should take in a little protein to give us energy.

No fad diet is safe... if you on ly eat one type of food, not only you're going to lose weight only for a while, but your body is going to react in a bad way because it misses the diversity in food and some specific nutritional values. Of course, for Anne, it is nice, because she only wanted to lose that weight for that certain role, and she can actually get back her health pretty quickly, I think, because she can afford treatmants and dietetics, but I wouldn't advise something like this.
