So I joined ezines.com recently and I want to start booming up my writing business. What gets me is there's so much I want to write about, but everyone's written about it already. It feels like I can do research and choose a groovy title for my article, but what's the point if 1,000 other people wrote about the same thing? My fellow writers, what would you do?

Hello there Bluebelle. :)
I learned from my call center training about group interviews and writing. What I learn is it isn't important that the other people had said what you want to say. What important is HOW you say and HOW YOU express it in your own words. There is a big difference there.
So start writing and make your edge to stand out among other writers out there. :)

This is a really good point made by bluespygirl. This really is the way to go if you are writing about topics that have been written before. More so if you are writing about topics and towards the same direction the former was written. All you need to do is say or write in your own words, also know as style. There will always be some uniqueness and difference to the other written ones.

It's hard to come up with original content, most of it has to be personal that way nobody can steal your life. It also has to be personal so people can read into it while also reading about it. I try to pick topics that are off beat or haven't been researched. Here's a topic, dog DNA and how to find out what kind of dog you have.

Agree. you could always put your personal spin to it but sometimes, it still the same thing one way or another.

Coming up with fresh or new topic to write about is not difficult, even if people have written on them in the past. What you need to consider is what really is making you write about those topics, and if it's just similarity of topics, then you could write about those topics from different perspective.
There are so many How, Why, What, When and Was to all topics, so why bother about what people have written. No matter how many they are, there will be so many more.

Make a research of whatelse has not been written. Or make up a new one. You can do it since you have the will to write, otherwise you won't be registering there.
