when your parents birthday coming, what will you give to them? or maybe you want to give surprise to them? I bought cake when my father birthday. I surprised him at that day, i just told him that i want to go somewhere, actually i went to the cake shop. When i arrived at home, i put candles on cake, and light the candles and sing happy birthday song. He's so surprised that i remembered his birthday. I love my dad so much :)And i'm happy for him

Just this November we planned a birthday surprise for my mother who's turning 65. Since only two of her children are here (me and my sister), the other children sent gifts which will arrive on her birthday. Each of us will give her a gift and since we don't usually do this she was surprised because she received a lot this year! We have given her gifts before of course but this time it's more special, the gift giving was more organized and planned. We didn't prepare food this year we just went and ate outside which she seldom does as she prefers to celebrate her birthday at home. We're glad she agreed to come because we really wanted to make that day different from her usual :)

Margie, every year seems like we are celebrating our parents birthdays the same way. Me and my siblings would buy a cake and buy some clothes for them to wear. Only when they request for something difference for their birthday gifts, then i would buy those items as their gifts. Besides that, we would organized a get together either lunch or dinner for them at a restaurant.

For my father's birthday, normally my eldest brother and my eldest
sister will organise a surprise lunch get together with all the family
members. He will be very happy to see all his children and grandchildren.
They will give him cash in the red packets for good health and good luck
wishes. Some grandchildren will buy chicken essence for him. Since my
father and my mother birthday just one month apart, we sill normally
organise a convenient date around that time to celebrate. Not the actual
date.

I have never celebrate my parents birthday. To think of it,
I do feel regret. My father has passed away before I was born.
My mum passed away last year. I never knew when is her actual
birth date and moreover there is no tradition in my family to
celebrate birthdays. I think from now onwards I will appreciate
and celebrate the birthdays of all my loves ones. Thanks for
this gentle reminder, truly appreciate it!

I don't know what to get my parents yet for there birthday it's not even Christmas yet so once that is over and it gets closer to there birthday will I start think of what to get them. I'll probably get chocolate cover strawberries for my mom or flowers. My kids aren't old enough to make anything and they get pictures of the kids all of the time.

on my mother's 45 birthday, I bought one cake for her. that really surprise her since it is her first time to receive cake as her birthday gift. I remember clearly when I sang Happy Birthday song to her, she moved to tears. Cake is so sweet. Good gift for our parents.

My family gave my dad a surprised birthday party on his 70th birthday. He did get a little suspicious as the only place we could hold all our family is in our church hall. So, he did wonder why he was being driven to our church on a Saturday morning. Whether or not he was totally surprised when he walked in the door, I do not know. He did acted surprised as I don't think he wanted to ruin it for us. We gave him a very nice pocket watch as that is what he wanted for many years. He has now passed away (and so has my mother) and my brother treasures our dad's pocket watch. Consider it special if your parents are still alive.
