Thing that every teacher must have.

You are absolutely right,middle.A teacher must have regard for his or her students.If I am a teacher,elder and more knowledgeable than my students,then it doesn't mean that my students are inferior and lesser human beings than me.There was a time when I was a student too.I had a self respect and I didn't like anybody to hurt it.So are my students now and this is the fact I must realize.As a student,I had both kinds of teachers.Some loved us and some others were like demons.Whatever I have learned,I have learned it from the teachers who loved us and never hurt our self respect.Realizing that students too have a self respect and they too want to be loved is a quality that a good teacher must have.

When I was in elementary, I also had a lot of great teachers. They will motivate all the students to learn. Even if the student is already advanced, she would still encourage the student to study further for his improvement. I liked almost all my teachers in elementary because they were like that.

For me, a good teacher: -likes students and children -doesn't see teaching as a job, but as a mission or a nice activity for themselves -can discipline the students: they have to have authority and power, they shouldn't be too permissive, they should keep the students quiet (unless it's an interactive class or a kis wants to ask something), they should punish those who disturb the class or haven't done homework etc. -they should be able to talk about the teaching material in a way that would interest the students -they should be experts in their subjects and how they teach it -they should be there for kids with problems -they should actually teach in the class, not joke around and tell stories without teaching the material correctly (it may be fun for the kids, but when they are going to have their final exams, they would suffer) -they should obey those things they require (proper clothes, no being late, no cursing, no drinking or eating in class etc. if they expect it from the kids) -they should care about every single student as an individual

teacher can be a friend after class and a real teacher in the class. There must be some distance between students and teacher. Or teachers are hard to control the class. Teacher plays many roles in life, friend,parent, teacher. The biggest task for teacher is how to educate students.
