Garlic is one of the oldest plants to be grown and used for medicine. It is an antiseptic and antibiotic.
It can be used to prevent gangrene. It can be used internally to treat typhoid, worms, dysentry, cholera, and bacterial food poisoning. Garlic can be used to treat bronchitic infections such as tuberculosis and to stimulate the digestive system.
It is also useful for lowering blood-cholesterol levels and reducing hypertension, helping to prevent heart attacks. Garlic enhances the body's immune defenses.
