Where do you like to stay old - in the future ?

Growing old is inevitable. Since I am 51 years old I can't stop but think as to where will I stay when I grow old. My heart tells me in one of my kids home. If some went to home for the aged,(hopefully won't happen to me), I love to stay in my children's home. I admire those people whose oldies stays with them until the end. You can see and feel the love that is within them. HOW ABOUT YOU?

Me and my husband already thinks about this for the past few years. We decide that we are going to live our own, back in my home country and leave the kids here on their own. We are going to just visit them once a while. I will not spend my old age with my kids. We don't want to be a burden to the kids. They have their own life, and they are responsible to raise their own family. I have 2 boys, so they will have wifes. Usually the wifes don't really like in-laws. Therefore to avoid conflict, we don't want to get into their way. It is ok to visit but not to stay and live. That's just my opinion.

Thank you Mam for your nice opinion. Just like you and your husband, we too have 2 boys and a girl. Would you believe we had talked about it with the kids? We tell them about the burden having us olds, and they responded that it doesn't matter. I also brought up the topic about in-law problems that usually is the culprit of the conflict. The response was problems like that can be resolved. But, what you said made me realized what IF? It's a common problem, the situation is everywhere.. Anyway, i still love to live with the kids...

These days, people want more privacy. Once they got married, even though they are our kids, they are already separated. They will live on their own, not like back in the old days where we are very close to our parents. Time has changed, and we have to adopt. I have told both of my boys that we are going back to our home country and will leave them alone here. I only want to live with my husband when we are old.

I would really love to stay with my love ones when im old. I dont want to stay in a homecare facility, I would feel abandoned.=(
When my mom gets old she has to stay with us. =)
