I usually have the similar things for dinner. I was hungry but didnt want to cook chicken or have leftovers. I made toomato soup with pasta in it, a chicken salad sandhwihc with onion and relish in it with pickles on the side. I havent had it since college (as it was cheap to make), I really enjoyed it going back for seconds.

The chicken salad sounds really yummy. I've never thought to add any pasta to tomato soup though. I'll have to try it sometime. I remember when I was growing up, my Mom used to make tomato soup and we would have a grilled cheese sandwich with it.

I like to add a little cooked rice to the tomato soup. Hubby does not eat pasta so we do not have it. Grilled cheese with tomato soup is an all time comfort food.

I really like the idea of adding pasta. I am always looking for fast, easy and simple recipes because I, like everyone, am always on the go. I look forward to trying this. Thanks!

I do not do pasta, but that is a good idea.I like chicken salad and other meat salads. Pickles have such a nice added crunch and taste.

Food costs a lot where you are. I know of someone that put popped popcorn on top of their soup, like croutons. They said it was especially good on chili. They were feeding three growing athletic boys who were about 6'3" tall. Lot of food for those growing guys.

I originally wanted flakes of ham but I dont have any, so I went for chicken (wasnt bad). It was a weay as a kid to make meals go further by adding pasta and such to meals (its cheap or wwas cheap a bag of pasta not is $5.00).

Once in awhile try something different yet simple is nice. Especially you once had it back in college time. It just deport you back in time. When I am not feeling well, I prefer something different yet simple to jumpstart my appetite yet not too oily or too heavy.

I too like to eat something different from the usual. I will fry the overnight rice by adding some sausage and egg. It taste great and I will eat by the sofa and at the same time catch my favorite television drama. I love my wife's fried rice, she will add more ingredients to it.

hi Ricki that really sounds delicious and easy to fix. I love tomato soup and cold chicken with relish and onion sounds goo too. A lot of times something cheap can also be really good to eat too. When I was cooking for myself I always kept a few cans of soup on hand for quick meals. Also I made a really great spaghetti dish with Bertolli's special spaghetti with omega 3 and 5 in it and protein added and I also used Bertolli's spaghetti sauce with garlic and basil. I always added more garlic and more basal to it.Mama luigi's Italian meat balls finished up my dish.

It is good to change things up a bit in the kitchen. Hopefully, this will inspire you to change things up a bit more with your menus. Once you are in your own place, it will be even easier for you to get creative with your cooking, because you will have the kitchen all to yourself.

it is definitely good to try something new and mix some stuff up, or you'll get bored having the same stuff everyday or every week. There are lots of food on the market that you can mix..

That sounds yummy to me. I have not used pasta in any tomato soup before bu it is great to have that kind of change up. I am getting tired of having leftovers and cleaning up after everyone after dinner myself. Last night I had so many dishes it was almost as if everyone had a Thanksgiving feast and my mother just made a roast, potatoes and veggies, and oh yea gravy.
