Hey mrshubert, I am glad to find another writing friend, welcome! If you would like help from other writers when you have done something, there are all kinds of writing sites and groups you can join to give you the help you want so much, and in a nice way. Some online communities that I have enjoyed are TheWritingBridge, Writing.com and NaNoWriMo. Maybe if you check them out, you'll find as much help and writing happiness as I do there. Best wishes! :-)

You can also try Indiegogo and Rockethub. Read the Terms and FAQ to see which of the three is the best choice for you. They're all part of a new thing called "crowdfunding." Instead of writing a grant, you submit your proposal to only one of these sites at a time, promote it, and let people around the world donate to your project. Most donations are under $25, but the sure do add up when hundreds or thousands of people are putting in their $25. A friend of mine is the current recordholder for best crowdfunded project at $1,100,000 for her art/book/music tour. She only asked for $100,000 in her proposal, and wound up with $1M extra in only a month! You could be next, but the two week projects get funded better, most of the time, according to the statistics. Best wishes! :-)

There are lots of self-publishing sites out there. There is no excuse for any writer who wants to become a publish author not to be able to do so. You did not say what problems it was that you are having but, if it’s about editing or proofreading you can hire someone to do this on a number of the freelance bid sites. If you don’t trust that option then you can use a grammar checker, there are several good free ones online. Amazon is a popular site where you can publish your book. Red Room is an online bookstore that shares its retail profits from your book sales with you. There are many others but be care when deciding on what option you will take. Make sure that you understand what each publisher offer it’s authors. I have read here where some writer have try to self publish and was disappointed. Good Luck.

I read that sometimes self publishing is not the best because then publishers don't really look at your work but I'm not giving up

I could not write just to win a contest or compete with other people, because it would not be what I really want to write. In other words, I will not listen when someone says "why not write a children's book?" because they have children. Really I want to write for grown ups or to the parents themselves and do not want to dumb down my writing. Also I want to write what I am interested in even if I have to go all over the web to find the information.

I do not like the idea that because you are a parent with children, the only book you will write is a child's book as if that is all you are supposed to write. I also think in order to do that, you have to be with children on a constant basis. So a kindergarten teacher, or someone who volunteers, or someone who babysits children will do a better job. For instance, how does a real three year old speak when I only see my great niece and my grandson just on their birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and other holidays. I do not think that those children on tv speak what real children do. I remember so many Tv shows where I said, "oops, not that way."

I have kids and eventually I probably mite end up writing a children book but if your not interested in writing bout some don't do it just bcuz someone ask u to satisfy their needs and it mite not be good because that's not something you want to write about lt

I love writing too. But I don't have the guts to have my own blog nor write a book. The reason is like what you had said. I may not find a help to find it published or red by others. Don't be sad. I hope you can find help about your book. What it is about? Can you tell us what it is about? Think of reality talent shows. Example is a singing show. Most of them are good singers but at the end, only one wins. What I am trying to say is, it may not be the time and just continue the thing that you like to do.

I love writing too. Mostly I love to write fiction and non-fiction stories. I made 12 stories in manuscript but can't pass it to a publishing company for I am reluctant that they will not find it interesting. But still in my mind that one day I have this confident to made my dream as a novelist. I think you are just confused with your own work but I adore you for making books already. If you can't find help with your own then seek to others.

I know what you mean. And I think that stories that are carefully being thought about are the best cause a lot of emotions go with it. Our life story itself isn't done in a day, right? And I think that our everyday experiences greatly contributes on what we write about and the feelings that goes with it.

Hi, It takes more patience to have your book published. Publishers often go for what make them a lot of money. Once they see you don't stand a chance on the book stands, they won't bother wasting ink on a piece of work that won't sell. It is a fact of a writer's life, often at the mercy of publishers who also has to keep the inks flowing and the printers clattering. Don't give up. A lot of publishers are kicking themselves for rejecting a potential runaway seller printed by a lesser competitor for lack of something to publish.

Aww .. I am envy to those who can write. My waterloo is writing. and besides I am more scared to write than to speak because I can be sued in writing you know in black and white proof. but in speaking I can always deny. LOL specially if speak grammatically incorrect. In writing I can not deny my mistake unless I will say, Oh its a typo error. hehehe... one more thing about writing it is difficult to think of what to think. am glad you had it done quite well.

no no 3honor, I can always deny. as long as there is no tape recorded proof I can deny. I will fight with them and tell them to see an ear doctor.. maybe they have a lot of natural and hidden things in their ears... (that's after I realized that I was wrong LOL)

I do love writing too. But I find it not too easy cause when I think of something, I ought to write it. I usually thinks at midnight --or nights too, and so I am not that great in writing. But then, that's what I always love to do!
