recently i come into a new office with a few two others. the manager assigned some veteran to help us to get familiar with daily work. what puzzled me is that my veteran is not quite willing to help me. I feel frustrated and hope somebody can help me.

gretting to your collegues and start conversation with them. When you are familiar with them, they will be happy to help you in work. Be sure to be sincere to every collegue. show your ability and be close to them.

If you feel that you are not being helped as much, maybe you could inform your manager about it so that you are able to perform your job well. If you won't report it to the manager and something goes wrong, the person assigned to you might say that you are not that fit for the job or you are slow in learning what he/she is teaching you. Might as well save your neck as early as now.

Generally when a new one comes in an office it takes some time to know him/her. If you are in a place where you work is needed desperately they help you at once to learn it. If not it's up to you to 'steal' the tricks and ways of how doing what is needed from you. Maybe they are just jealous that you could take their place, who knows. Be friendly, willing to learn and helpful.
