Why does my professor want me to call?

Right now, the 3 classes I'm taking are all online. I started off with 5 classes with one on campus, but they ended after half the semester. So now I'm in my final week of these online classes and scrambling to get papers written and prepare for exams. Today, I checked one of my classes I've been a little confused about. We have to write a paper due by Sunday but the professor gave out no specific details of it. The syllabus gives the topic but it doesn't mention how many references we need or when the actual due date was. There is a discussion section just for the paper in that class and I've been posting and asking questions. The professor finally got back to us after a few days and one of her comments to me was to call her today. Seeing that makes me a bit nervous because I've never had a professor asking me to call. I don't think I did anything wrong, I was just a little confused about the paper requirements and even in her comments she really wasn't clear. I honestly have no idea what she wants to talk to me about and she didn't leave anyone else comments saying for her to call. I'm nervous to call because I don't know what she wants, I didn't do anything wrong.

Just call her, hon. You can't be in trouble because you know you did nothing wrong. She probably feels she can explain better on the phone. Try not to worry and just do what she said and call.

I ended up calling her before work but she didn't pick up. So later that night I ended up responding to her comment online and I told her I was a bit nervous about why she wanted me to call. She said everything was fine she just wanted to help me out. Lol I definitely felt relieved.

Don't worry :) I believe that she wants you to call her because you are confused and she wants to ensure you 100% understand what is going on with the work. The other students may have called or emailed her directly already.

I sure hope so! I always get a bit nervous when anyone tells me to call them, it sounds so serious lol. I tried not that long ago but she didn't pick up. You're probably right that she wants to make sure I understand things. But I don't see why she couldn't have just sent me a message or left it in the comments. Her asking me to call makes me feel like I'm forgetting some important assignment or something lol.
