I have long postponed having manicure & pedicure because of my busy schedule. You know how it is when you go to a beauty salon to have your manicure/pedicure, you really need more than an hour for this. I usually have these services every week but I have postponed this week's schedule so much so that I do not feel comfortable typing now for my nails have grown already. I must have that much-needed manicure and pedicure today. How about you? What is your schedule for manicure & pedicure?

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't had either done since April. I'm not working, so there's no money to do it now. Also, since I've moved, it's been a struggle to find a really good salon. Before I moved in with my boyfriend two years ago, I usually went every two weeks for a mani, and once a month or six weeks for a pedi. I just learned about a new place that is offering new customers a free mani with a hot stone pedicure for only $35-I tried it once about three years ago and I loved it!

Maybe I'll hit the salon again once I get a job-I used to spend $160 plus a MONTH on myself. But it's got to be a good job-once I start going again, I don't want to stop! Perhaps one day...

well,i have my manicure and pedicure twice a month on my self,i have a stuff for the nails.i just don't want to go in a beauty salon because i just worried some people don't know how to do it properly they accidentally clip your skin and get bleeding or getting infected...and is not because that i think pedicure and manicure now is just too expensive!

Every two weeks is too long for me. My nails grow fast and the nail polish would be chipped so I make sure I have it every week.

Well, I trim my fingernails short. It helps in my kind of work, regular office job and doing a lot of typing work, so basically I don't have them manicured unless I feel like it which is I guess "once in a blue moon". My fingernails are just fine though. BUT, and this is a big but. I have to have my pedicure. Otherwise, it will be very discomforting and itchy. I usually have my pedicure once a month in a saloon and every week I do it on my own. Everyday, I simply have to "brush" each toe to keep them clean and to prevent dry skin to rub on some foot lotion.

Hi Miras! I can understand you having manicure only "once in a blue moon" because maybe beauty parlors are located far from your place. In our place, which is very small, there is almost one beauty parlor in every corner.

I hope you don't mind me coming in on this discussion, I know it's more for the ladies, but I have often wondered do you see men much having a manicure or pedicure? Manicure I can assume some men will venture into a studio mainly for ladies to have their nails done? But I am not sure if a guy would get a pedicure done, we don't expose our feet as they are nearly always covered, except of course in sandals or on the beach. I would be interested to hear if any men do have either a manicure or a pedicure or even both!

Yes, a lot of men in our place go to these beauty salons to have their nails cleaned. They skip the nail polish though. Try it. Having your nails done by professionals is one of the most relaxing indulgences I can think of. Men do have facials, hot oils, manicure, pedicure, etc. Many of them are as vain as women.

Usually I get mine done every two weeks or so. I don't normally get a pedicure when it's cold outside and right now it is cold! I like mine done when I can wear sandles or flip flops. Sometimes my nails grow really fast and I have to get a fill in before they get long enough to where they actually hurt if I don't get it taken care of.

My nails grow very fast, I don't know why so I need to have them trimmed at the salon once a week.

I know how long that takes, believe me. I usually read two newspapers and a couple of magazines while waiting for my wife. She gets a foot spa and cleaning first before the pedicure and manicure bit. What I'm puzzled is that after a week or two, she has them removed. I don't mind though. I know we all want to feel good, and this mis one way for her to feel good about herself.

Footspa before pedicure would be ideal. The scrubbing would really take off a lot of thick skin from the feet.

Oh yes! I loved having my hands and feet pampered and I would even get a massauge done too but ever seance we moved to the hill country there is not a Solon where I could go to get it done and I miss that. I have gone to this other place which is an hour away and I don't like driving that big a distance just to get myself pampered...so just this past Black Friday while I was at the big city I got it done and I cried! Can u believe it. I didn't know how else to react but it felt like heaven when I sat down and got me feet done and my nails painted! The ladies sure do know how to do their job! As woman and parents we need to not forget about ourselves. Even if its just once in a while...u deserve it!

Oh, that's too bad. Anyway, you can open a salon there. You can start a business making women look and feel good.

I have my nails done only twice a month. After the nail polish chips off, i just clean my nails myself, no nail polish as that normally leaves a stain on my nails.

Yes. Watcha. The salon usually advises to let the nails breathe once in a while without the nail color, but I have it anyway.
