I handed my resume into Tim Hortons on the 18th, so it will be two weeks this weekend. They opening very soon, and I assuming all positions.
I havent heard from them, and they said not to call or anything on the application.
I have 8 years experience with this franchise, working variety of shifts. My availability was 5am - 9am Monday - Sunday, 3pm - 11pm Wednesday - Saturday, and 10pm - 6am Wedesday, Thursday, and Friday.
I was told after 2 weeks consider yourself not getting the job, and move on. Now my friend said just wait as they are just opening and busy.
But I need a job, and I'm getting a little frustrated now.

I understand your frustration, especially the 'not knowing' even though your friend said they are busy.
I'd be tempted to ring up but there again I'm never lucky whenever I confront a prospective employer like that..not tactful at all like my hubby is!

All the same it's still bad them not actually telling you so. I'm old-fashioned that way.

I can see their point as if 100 people apply then they wont call all of them. But when is the cut off point, and when can we know that we didnt get the job. I applied to this franchise in the past and it was about 3 -4 weeks (the store was open for several years then this store is just opening and hiring all positions).

I have gotten calls around 3 weeks after I have put in an application. It is possible that with all the hiring they are doing they just have not gotten to your application yet. It might be possible though that they are looking for someone with open availability right now. Maybe once they get everyone hired that has that open availability they will work down to the people with limited availability.
Good luck though!

I remember one time I had a job interview and they told us not to call also. They said they would let us know within 2 weeks. My daughter knew one of the managers there and happened to see her a couple of weeks later, so she inquired if they hired or not. She said, "Yes, there was a girl that called us back so we hired her"....get that. They told us NOT TO CALL. That's why I didn't. So it's kind of like we're darned if we do and we're darned if we don't.
I just don't know what to tell you in this case. If you feel you weren't hired, I would just call them anyways to find out why you didn't get hired. I can't stand it when they make you wait like that, it's awful.

They are just opening so they are hiring at least 50 staff, and this franchise goes through people left and right. I put two weeks, but my friend told me to wait as they are just hiring everyone so it would take awhile to go through all the applications. They reposted the job posting again last night, so I don't know if they are just that desperate, or they skipped over my application. I have 8 years experience with this franchise, so many said I would be hired as they wouldnt have to train me as much, and I can do all positions right from the start.

Their probably busy trying to open the store and haven't had a chance to look at all the resumes yet. I would give it a little time before you give up. But you could start putting resumes at other places just to have different options in case you don't get this job though. Good luck.

Don't bother contacting them, since they specified that they do not want applicants to call or such. Just continue on with applying to other positions at other places. If you hear back from Tim Hortons, that is fine. If not, you will have more applications in at other places and won't be waiting around to hear back from this place.

Hi Ricki! I am sure that there are so many other applicants seeking positions in that company so if I were I will really go to the manager personally and inquire about your application. It always works when you show the company how interested you are. Because if you don't do anything and they are not really eager to hire you, then you will never get the job. But if you do something, like show your interest and you make a follow up, you will have two options: a) not get hired because they are already full or b) get hired because they'd been so busy they have overlooked the applications.
So go ahead and increase your options. Call them or see them personally.

The anticipation is killing you, right? But I guess, you also need to look for other options just in case, they would not be calling you.

If i were you i dont think that i would hold my breath for the job. I would go ahead and start looking for another job. And if they call you then great you can have the job that you wanted to begin with. But if not at least you have started looking else where for a job and maybe someone will call you soon and you will have a job for the holidays.

When waiting on a job to call me back I get very impatient and call them. Two weeks should have been enough time for them to decide. I would call them, what"s the worse that's going to happen , they'll tell you that they're not hiring. They never call and tell you that they're not hiring thoughor they don't want to hire you.

Hey Ricki,
This sucks! I am feeling your pain severely because how is that businesses are crying that they need help and when qualified applicants such as yourself applies, they wait and drag butt until the time run out? I would chalk it up as a loss and move on. Sad to say, but I'm in the same boat with you.

Dear Ricki, i feel very sorry for you. but such is life, we have to go through some difficulties. i have similar experience with you. I sent my resume to a company, but didn't receive a reply for a long time. My suggestion to you is that while you are waiting , don't stop to try another chances. God close a door but must open another window for you. good luck!

Call them, and ask them. Naturally, you don't want to ask them to 'explain why they haven't answered'; think of it more as 'asking if they have any positions open,' as if you hadn't submitted an application earlier.
I guess.

Sorry Tim Hortons, I would call. It's a crucial time for both parties involved, and the results can be one of three: you're being considered and they're busy and losing track of their heads; you're not being considered and they're busy and losing track of their heads or they chose you and forgot to phone because they're busy and losing track of their heads.
