Hi guys, last night my sister bought me a triple chocolate cake. She knew that I'm on a diet that's why she laughs at me when I grabbed it immediately. I love sweets specially chocolates. She knew that it's my weakness and I can't help it. I'm just thankful because I didn't gained weight when I eat too much calories, but I'm worried that maybe I become diabetic someday. I don't want to be like my Dad, he has now type 2 diabetes and taking many medicines. I think it runs in our blood because my grandmother also have diabetes. I don't want to stop eating sweets, can anyone help me with this?

Gosh many can relate. I love chocolate and sweets too. My problem is once I start I have a really, really hard time stopping.
LOL so I usually wait to have something sweet at night..so I won't be so tempted all day.
It's a tough discipline for many of us..I think some just crave sweets more than others and so our self control has to be stronger. Exercise and eating healthy diets helps..and some sweets are important..but moderation is the key and often that is the toughest part..

You just need to eat plenty of vegetables all the time. So if time comes that you need to eat your favorite sweets you would not need to stop.

You should immediately stop that. Although you had your craving but do spare a thought for your family members, i for sure they won't be happy to see you having diabetes which could cause lots of problem in the future .

No way, like me I have stopped eating high-cal foods to keep down the rising blood pressure. I should be more careful now that a few laps in the open sea can mean a tightening feeling in the chest area. I don't want that happening again, so it is self-denial all the way or suffer the consequences.

hi deine oh I am adiabetic for a l ong time and I too love sweets b ut I learned oned thing I became a diabetti in middleage becasue i was eating to m any calories not just sweetsbut too many carbs. overweight in mid forties and fifties is where we end up becoming type two diabetics. too many fact cells imoedes insulin from ushering in the sugar into the muscle cells where it belongs and causes the sugar to get dumped into our blood where it does not belong and c an make us illo.'So the moral to my tale is to avoid gaining a lot of weight as you
approach mid life as thats where most people become diabetics vut too latelyh theyh have found younger people who put on a lot of weight around their middles
'are also bec omoing diabetics so its still wise to keep ones weight at a'
healthy weight.I can eeat dark chocolate and its is good for us as it'
has antioxidants in it for heart health.

Since you're aware that too much intake of sweets may lead to diabetes or other health problems, why not start eating less of it. I know it's easier said than done, but it's something that you have to do. You could do it gradually. Like if you're eating two slices of cake before, eat only 1 1/2 slices or less even.

You can eat all the sweets you want as long as you do regular exercise.Doing physical work will increase the number of insulin receptors and there by maintaining glucose level.Be sure to exercise well and you can be free from diabetes.

Eat in moderation is the key here. You may eat sweets but try to limit them in small quantities or just eat them once in a while. It's good that you realize to limit all those sweets because if you eat them excessively, it may lead to many health problems, like diabetes and such. It's also help that even you eat sweets, you still eat healthy diets like fruits and vegetables. Don't forget other factor like don't stress or to do exercise.
