Hello all my friends and all members here Ji, Well, today is the last day of our 43 yrs of married life. Our marriage was arranged by my mother and my elder sister with a soldier . I was a teacher at the college and was summoned to my mother's place, whgere both parties would take a final dicission. My would be husband was to come from southern part of our country, "D" time and 'D' hr arrived and to our surprise my would be husband did not appear to me on that day. On enquiry by my mother, we were told taht he believes in arranged marriages and whatever his parents will do , will be the best for both of us, our parents are not our enemies and would never harm us. Today we are grand-parents of our six grand children , shared equally among all our three children withjout any variations. We at this age og 75 and 68, have been very greatful to Almighty. Only now question is who would leave whom for the last leg of journey which i salso utter truth. Please share your thoughts on this. May God bless You and have a great time

Hi! I'm happy to congratulate you on your 43rd years of married life and wish God to grant you more. I respond to this issue because I sense I have something to share. We're both the same race and faith and got tied on the altar of matrimony on July 6, 1960 and by a simple Arithmetic by coming July 6th we'll have reached our 52 years of uninterrupted marriage at age 74 and she 72. She's a teacher-retiree; I was once a teacher but after 10 years transferred to the Dept. of Local Government where I got retired way back on January 2002. We got married before we got permanent jobs so it's easy to deduce how hard and thorny life was with us. Child bearing and raring couldn't be postponed (nature was at its peak) so we begot 5 in the factory, 3Ms and 2Fs. Now the fives are raising families of their own; starting with the youngest a male, Commerce grad, settled with 3; the next a girl-nurse begot 4; third from youngest a male, BSEIT with units in Mechanical Engineering has produced 3 through his wife; the 4th a female Commerce grad now widowed works at an LGU as a registrar of birth and marriages with 3 children while the last from youngest or the eldest is a male-nurse who's currently in UK; he sired 6. 2 are non-legit, besides. Also to be reckoned are 2 greatgrandsons. Good day to your family.

Hello my friend nicanorr Ji, Well, my hubby is little older than you (22-9-1938), however married only in 1969, so prportionally have less offsprings (2M + 1F), each one have firstly their daughters and then their sons. With this , we always find and thank Almighty that HE has given everything to us. All the three satnd on their own legs. We depend physically on them, else we have our own pension and property. Having children lies with Nature, what is in HIS stotre about someone, HE only knows. But now-a-days, the very concept of marriage is being defeated. People marry only for tehir lust in life and not to keep human race alive. We heartly congretulate you both and wish that celebrate your platinum jubliee here at myLot. May God bless You and have a great time

Wow ... an arranged marriage. Quite interesting, but still wishing you always the best with many more to come. You do have a lot of good things. When time comes to where your last leg of the journey comes along hopefully there will not be any regrets as well.

Congratulations! You have a blessed arranged marriage. Not many marriages can reach that far these days. People going on dates before marriage could not even celebrate double digits of years in marriage. Love alone do not bullet proof the foundation of marriages. With so many failed marriages today I think arranged marriages should be considered as an alternative to bring two hearts together. The expertise of the elders to do the match making is quite reliable. They know best.

congratulations Those days children used to think that way. They used to marry whom ever their parents used to select. But now the situation is completely changed. I sometimes think how nice it will be if those days come back again in India.

thank you so much for the lovely response. i know little bit about these , the tally the horoscope and all, but clearly dont have much idea. Can you give me any site name or anything where i can find such detailed explanation. I agree with you ,Indian youth will go back to arranged marriages. I will be one of them who prefer arranged marriage in future in my life.
