Liam Ridgewell -You are a Disgrace!

Today's newspaper reports that West Brom defender Liam Ridgewell has posted a photo on Twitter of him sitting on his toilet wiping his backside with £20 notes.
The photograph is reproduced and shows him wiping with one hand while he clutches a large wad of notes in his left hand.Meanwhile the bathroom floor is scattered with about £400 worth of £20 notes.
I am absolutely appalled by this. Most people are struggling to make ends meet while this charlatan, who takes home an undeserved £20,000 per week, mocks such hard-working people (including his fans).
The term 'professional' in 'professional footballer'should extend to his responsibilities and public actions off,as well as on, the pitch. Clearly,Ridgewell is too stupid to realise this. He is less a role model than a roll model -that is toilet roll.

I agree, it is ignorant and disrectful - but let us be honest is he any different to a filthy rich tacky rapper or a junior banker with his bonus? Let us not forget the vapid and vacant reality TV 15 minute celebrity.
It would be easy to tar all footballers with the same brush, trying to claim that every footballer is not grateful for what they have.
With every bad role model in football, the is a good one. One that might surprise you is Craig Bellamy - He has had his behaviour problems in the past, but he spends most of his summers in Africa with his Charity that he created. His charity has built schools and rescued children from povety. He is also modest about what he does. Bellamy is a role model along with many other unassuming professional sportsmen and women.
Liam Rigdewell is an idiot and that is why he plays for the baggies

Yes it is disgusting what he has done. He should be sacked by his club and avoided by all profesional clubs. He would soon value the £20 notes when he has to work for a living.

Good point, I think he'd soon be unearthing the manhole covers of West Bromich in a bid to recover his soiled notes!

First of all I think the player has to be extremely foolish to go for such a photograph. Secondly, is there something looney about him that he decides to wipe with money!! Completely agree with you that this stupid and condemnable. But not sure if anyone can do anything about it as it is his money.
