Good Night " how it derived"

in our life sleeping is very much important . everytime tell good night before they going to sleep . is any one know how the word good night derived .. and also tell me if you know good night in anyother languages ?

It is Shubh Ratri in Sanskrit and most Indian languages. It is wishing you a Good night's sleep, probably because people realized the importance of good sleep in shaping the next day!

Good night is simply a wish or an invocation that the person you are addressing should "[Have a] good night!". Over time, the expression "May you have a good night" has been shortened to "Good night!"

Good night started as all other greetings or salutations started...It was a way of saying goodbye at that time of the day. Laila Tov is good night in hebrew.
