A friend of mine lives in Aringay, La Union. He's a singer. Right now it's the town's fiesta and wednesday evening is going to be a BIG event/ My friend will be master of ceremonies. Kind of jokingly I asked him if we can sing together that night. He took it seriously and so we're scheduled to sing one song. He has chosen Faithfully from Journey and I really NEVER heard of it before! Si I played it on youtube and rehearsed it over and over again the last days. It's all in my head now. Today I asked if there also wil be people in high positions. Yes, all great La Union names will be there, together with 5000 visitors!!! I NEVER ever sung in public and now this! My own fault of course. But we're going to make the best out of it and we will let Aringay rock!!!!! And truth be known: It's one of my biggest dreams to sing on stage. Please keep your fingers crossed!

This reminds me when I first sang on church, even though the number of people are way less as compared to yours, but first time is always a first time.
Since it was on Christmas eve, it couldn't have been much grander stage than that. I remember, I wasn't able to enjoy and concentrate freely on other programs, since I was worried about my one and I was shivering that time, didn't knew that was because of cold or coz of my panic to how to go there and sing in front of packed people, even though I had companions of other two people with me in that song.
When our name was called, that shivering just stopped and we got on that stage and my knees were trembling that point of singing but as the song started to went by, it became alright and I certainly from no where started to gain confidence.
It was great though!!

Thanks for your sharing your experience. Yes, I think I'll almost be dying but as soon as it starts I will have the power. Fortunately we're together and my friend has lots of experience. The day before we will rehearse together and wednesday two technical rehearses on stage. So all is well prepared!
Happy Mylotting!

Wow!! This does sound exciting, and Scary. I am wishing you the Best with this, and maybe it will be the kick start to a singing career you are wanting. I enjoy singing, and have sang in Karaoke, and in Church, etc. but not really wanted to go anywhere further with it. Hope it is all you want it to be and more.

Thank you for this wonderful comment. Tomorrow will be the big day and am getting real nervous now. Didn't know it was going to be a real big event! Don't think there will be music companies. Besides: I'm 56 yo. Too late to start a career I guess. But yes, I love to sing and in the past people told me I should do something with that. Well............tomorrow the. You can see it later because my friend made sure it's going to be filmed and placed on youtube. LOL.
Happy Mylotting!

Thank you all!
It didn't go as I planned. Changes were made and my friend had to have the lyrics on the stage floor. Only his part. We were going to have some small talk before the singing but the technician started the music as soon as we were on stage. So I started in a key that was too low and got mixed up with my lyrics because I saw his on the papers on the floor. Nobody noticed however and the audience did like it.
If ever there's going to be a next I'll make sure I'll have more control over everything so I won't get unwelcome surprises. And pick a song I'm much more familiar with.
Nevertheless: I'm glad I did it! The experience was great and I learned alrady a lot!
Happy Mylotting!!!!
