today i am so happy, i received my gift parcel from prof bhuwan. it contains a silk sari, matching blouse and one to wear under the sari, they call it 'saya' the color is light blue, my favorite! well the sari is 5 and half meters long, i have to request help of a indian lady to teach me how to wear it. bhuwan's marriage anniversary is on 7th dec. hence he sent to me because we are family friends. i'd like to wear it on christmas day. the party at home i am going to make will be themed "indian style". i am so excited. husband will be here before the 25th and i know that although he sees a lot of sari wearing indian ladies, he will be excited to see me in a sari also. do you receive gifts from friends abroad? do you send gifts, too? ann

Hi Ann I know the relationship you and professor sir share. I must congratulate you on your new dress and I do believe that it is something from our state - specially the Sambalpuri one. If that is the case, it is a work of handicraft and very unique. Please upload at least one pic with you in the sari or better make that as your next Avatar here at MyLot. It is so warming a feeling that the world has really shrunk and the physical distance doesnt matter when people are so close as real offline friends. I do hope that the next time, when you visit India, I too would be able to meet you and family.

Yes, I send flowers to a friend in Canada, it is cheaper than giving her a gift and have it delivered. LOL. and I know she loves flowers and she wants to receive bouquet. At first, she did not know that it came from me, then she figured out that it was from me and she was happy. She took a photo of herself with the flowers and I am so glad that she's glad . Merry Christmas.

That sounds like a really great gift that you got from your friend. I don't really get any kinds of gifts from friends or family members. I guess because my country's postal system charges too much money to send out packages or parcels to people. But I do get holiday cards from them. A card is still a nice thing to get for the holidays. I really only mail stuff that I send on Ebay occasionally from time to time.

ohh wow so that's you .You are very lucky to have a good friend like professor. These days we rarely get to see such people. Who really gives so much value to friendship. All the best. And yes hope you learn to wear the sari and surprise your husband and enjoy Christmas.
