Yesterday at the gym when I went inside the locker room, there was this strong smell that I did not find nice. I thought it was just me but the rest of the other women there were also complaining. They too did not like the smell. Well I thought since it emanated from a lighted incense, then I think it must not be good for the lungs. We had to open the door for we thought the smell was just too strong. I told the gym owner about this and she told us that she place it there in order to remove whatever bad smell or odor there is in that locker room. We kept quiet and thought the smell of soap would have been more tolerable but the smoke from incense does not seem healthy to me. What do you think?

One bad smell to cover up another one? Not very logical, I was quite surprised that they would use incense, I have never heard of this before, what about using one of those air-sprays that sprays periodically, or on timer? I am sure the gym could stretch their budget for those! I have had incense burning before and some flavours are really rancid and quite noxious.

There are floral incense that smells very nice. Perhaps the gym owner should consult with the members as to what kind of smell they would like to have. I thought that it's more expensive to burn incense because each stick doesn't really last that long. It's much more economical to use an air freshener with a timed dispenser.

sounds interesting , though i don't think bad smell will take away the bad smell. It doesn't have any good logic. some room freshener would be good i guess.
