Something Bitter

I came across a 9 year old girl and we had a talked. She told me that her mother is working in other country and his father is a seafarer. I asked her who is taking care of her. She said, her grandparents and an aunt. I think she misses her mother because she said she did not have her mother now and she'll be returning in Christmas 2014. I'm quite surprised and I can't almost talk with her. I asked her again what is the job of her mother. She said she was baby sitting a child. And then I found out too that her parents were separated and she had a stepmother. To end the conversation, she said that she was taking care of her grandmother. I'm quite shocked of her situation and at her age she experienced something like that. A poor girl who is a victim of unexplainable circumstances. I just advised the girl to take care of herself always and finish her schooling till college. I pray too that God will bless her life and her family. Sometimes life is bitter. What do you think of this mylotters?

Hi,
so sad the girl experienced some things in this tender age. Separation of parents will definitely have a bad effect on children. I wish her mom will be back to her.

The concept of family has tremendously changed over the years. Economic reasons have driven many parents to seek employment outside of the country so many children grow up with relatives or even sometimes nannies. But it is the reality now.

We couldn't choose the kind of life we have sometimes. But all we can do is accept reality and live a normal life as possible.

Poor child being in that situation. It's really hard since a child really needs her parents. They should be her role models but they show her this break ups and remarriage which is not supposed to be.

Sadly stories like this are becoming the reality for many children during this economic hardship. I have not been in a situation such as this exactly but one that was similar. I really hope that that little girl if able to keep up her strength and knows that her mother is way from her taking care of another child so that she can give her a better life. As a 9 year old it can be hard to see past the emotions you are feeling at that time hopefully she will get a reason to be joyful for during the holiday season.

if you can only have always constant contact with that girl, maybe you can help her a lot in many ways. she needs a friend like you who cares.

Hi edvc!
This is just one of the realities that we can encounter in our day to day life. The daily news would feature similar or worse cases. That is why if I can only do anything, I would not tolerate our countrymen to work in other countries. But we can't do anything about it as of now. The only thing we can share is to pray for this people.
Have a nice day!
