Religion plays an important role in the history of human civilization. It performs certain social functions. It enhances self-importance and rationalizes the people.
The origin of religion is still in mystery. It cannot be traced to a single source.
The beginning of religion as old as man. There are no primitive society with out religion.
Religion also arose from the intellectual power of man in response to certain felt need of man.
Religion goes back to the beginning of culture it self.it is a unique institution.

i do agree with you that religion plays important role in human life. people in.my soviety have a quote about religion. they said that religion gives direction to human so they dont live for nothing. religion teaches us how to treat other people, how to lead this life properly and manage our heart. i cant understand why there are some people dont believe that God is exist then they dont have a religion. i cant imagine how empty their life is. cos religion exists to calm our soul. about the origin, i dont know about other religions but i know the origin of my own religion: Islam. As stated in.our holy book, that religion existed since tge first man, Adam, was created. Adam believe in God and God taught him how to live. then God created Eve to be his soulmate then they had children during living in the world. God guided them in every his step. Adam and Eve as the first human believe in God. believing in God refers to religion. so my religion is as old as the human being.
